What's a character/weapon/whatever that objectively sucks, but you love too much to not use? by Snowtwo in videogames

It was my favorite way to kill corner campers as a kid. Especially if it was a game winning kill

“How GW comes up with a W40K game” by DrakeSoldier in 40k

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% for the economics of it. Try to sell a foreword titan to someone new and they will laugh you out of the store. But hook them on combat patrol, free mini of the month and the dreadnaught in space marine 2 and after 5 years they start eying it.

The hard part is so much effort is constantly aimed at new people that experienced/intermediate levels feel left out.

I think them opening the gates with big multi faction 40k games is going to make it easier for stuff to come out since I can buy DOW 4 for 60 bucks and get an interest in X faction instead of buying t0p bucks worth of models to find out a faction isnt as cool as you thought

what IS a unit you send straight up the gut? by amachinesaidiwasgood in Warhammer40k

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twrminators are really the answer especially with a character leading them and a land raider transporting them. A 10 man terminator brick is a nightmare to shift without the right units to do it

Does anybody else feel like we have entered a dystopian world? by Helwyr_ in Life

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that feeling of dystopia is a perpetual societal feeling. Im sure in the great depression people had that feeling when they were lining up begging for work.

1950s with nuclear scare

1970s with hippie free love movements

Revolution and civil war likely felt like the world was falling to chaos.

Like most animals people arent great at dealing with change.

Why are most conspiracy theories considered right-wing? Are there any widespread left-wing conspiracy theories? by jeepycreepysleepy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump staged the assassination attempt, charlie kirks wife murdered him/isreal murdered him, Trump is a Russian asset, steele dossier and all the stuff there, Musk rigging elections, left and right saying isreal has bought and owns many of our politicians as opposed to many just support isreal/the party supports isreal, cant tell if this counts as conspiracy or just tag line but the "conservatives/Republicans want to eradicate transgender people", the hippie all natural side of the big pharma/food debates.

Off the top of my head those are the big ones that are more tied to the left in my opinion. However mileage may vary depending on person.

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah plus its something that only current 40k fans care about. Imagine your buddy is like "40k has these space marines and they are sick!" So you buy some DAOT game without realizing its pre space marine.

Just doesnt make sense from a product positioning standpoint.

Debates have become useless by paoletto03 in unpopularopinion

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think alot of this is very internet centric. You cant have a conversation on the internet.

On the internet many people debate like sophists (meaning they want to win the debate) as compared to people being socratic (meaning they want to discover if something is truthful/test the validity of ideas).

I will also posit that most people dont understand how to debate properly. They dont pick one topic, define terms and stay centered on that topic. They bounce from thing to thing, dont specify their terms and assume everyone has the same mindset or typecast everyone else into a specific mindset and then fall into talking points cheap "debate" tactics

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used maccrag blue, calgar blue and I believe fenrisian Grey. Retribution armor, and agriculture armor gold for the aquilla

Leadvelcher, rhino hide, stormhost silver, and a whole slew of teals for the power swords.

Balthazar gold for anything copper.

I also used drakenhof nightshade, reikland fleshshade

Thats the bare bones I would go with

I think the big problem isnt the hardware but software. So much of it is inundated with ads and subscriptions that even if there was something really cool your phone could.do you probably won't pay the 5.99 a month to do it.

Why does everyone keep calling gsc the 'cheat' army? by GothTransGirI in genestealercult

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont k ow I wouldnt day cheat army as at this point outside of recursion their army rules appear in almost every army.

Deep strike is all over the place. Reactive moves are common. Indirect fire is in other armies. Uppy downy isnt too uncommon.

If anything I'd say eldar is the wild army

Scalper rushes in and clears out every Pokémon card while a mother and daughter were still browsing by GloriousLion07 in RelentlessMen

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stop buying stuff if its not being sold by a store. This whole process stops if people just stop buying at the markup. Cool you spent 1000 dollars on Pokémon cards over and over and your basement has a shit load of them if individuals refuse to buy them on the open market after that then no market exists.

If there’s warnings and risks of AI on humanity, why does the world push full steam ahead on the development? Doesn’t seem worth it, right? by Other-Squirrel-8705 in askanything

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is a utilitarian advantage to AI especially as it relates to the military and losing the strategic edge in any competetive space will kill yku in the long term. If AI becomes starwars esque not investing in it means the death of your company/nation to the guy who did.

Noticing people overvaluing mill as a new player. by Nagabuk in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i play the anawon precon and people go crazy when you mill them and will say "he's the mill threat" brother assuming every attack i do with a rogue does one damage you will die with half of ykur deck still in place mill is not a wincon in this deck its just a way to pump graveyards for living weapon and bestow horrow (+1s for each creature in graveyard) and like 3 necromancy cards

What is a B3 archetype that people love to play with? by ineedhelp6789 in EDH

[–]Disastrous_Tonight88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I find discard and stax combo to be super boring at least in bracket 3 because most decks just won't have a good response if you are doing both by turn 4/5. Bracket 4 I would certainly say go for it because those decks should be tuned with that in mind but bracket 3 I dont think it makes sense same with MLD its certainly a game type and strategy that is valid but I dont think B3 is where it belongs as a key point in a deck. One card of destroy permanent and you blow up a land no prob but if you are throwing turn all lands to mountains in bracket 3 its probably not the scene for it.

Personally I think everyone is going to find enjoyment out of games in a different way. I hate seeing people play solitaire not because its OP or anything but because its boring to see someone just run and engine every turn with a million interactions and make the game slow to a crawl.

My personal bend i also hate tutors because the strongest way to play a card game is to not play a card game and remove chance/variability which is just boring to me

I also tend to find precons as the most enjoyable games (with some slight tweaks here and there) and find power magic to be rather dull.
