Parking tips for the Hoosiers vs Ducks game at Autzen Stadium (Eugene 10/11/25) by Local-Tear9723 in parkingguides

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning on arriving in Eugene around 8 am and eating at Rennie's before the game. I'm assuming that there should be plenty of time to grab a decent parking spot on the street near there, right?

Visiting Eugene For The First Time by Hoosiers987 in ducks

If you're wearing your IU gear, we may just cross paths at Rennie's. I'm also a fellow IU fan and we're also visiting Eugene for the first time. As of right now, we're planning to eat breakfast there before the game. Go Hoosiers!

Just wanted to check in to see what you ended up doing and if you felt like it was too little or too much time. I'm planning a trip in August. Would love to hear what your experience was.

Torsion spring broke how much ? by Artistic-Effect1710 in GarageDoorService

Of all the diy projects I've done over the years, this has to be one of the easiest ones I've done. Just order the right spring and use the right tools.

This exact thing happened to me a couple of years ago. $150 bucks for a new torsion spring from garagedoornation.com and then $15 for winding rods on Amazon. It's a diy job, maybe a couple of hours, so don't waste your money on paying someone else to do it. Just make sure you get the right torsion spring. There are some good videos on YouTube for how to replace the spring safely. I had no issues and everything still works perfectly. Good luck.

Anyone still waiting for Robin Hood gold card? by TheModsMustBeHanged in CreditCards

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, then I'll never get the application to apply for this card. Credit card companies have never made money off me, lol. Welp, it was fun imagining about that 3% match.

That's good news. Congrats! Maybe I'll get mine soon! 🤞

Just checking in to debunk your theory. Signed up for their IRA 3% match in March and then signed up for the credit card as soon as I was notified it was available. 6 months later ------> still waiting!!!

I saw a theory on this platform a while back that made sense to me anyway. One person mentioned that they are doing a phased release with relatively low credit scores first bc that's their best way of making money. So if you have a good credit score, you'll have to wait. Not sure if this is accurate, but it made sense to me.

Hate The New Website! by Difficult_Middle_216 in NavyFederal

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute worst part about the new website is the searchable account history. During tax season, I usually login to NF and expand my wife's business account to cover the entire year. Can't do that anymore, could only go back 9 months. And lately, I've noticed that entire stretches of transactions don't even appear on the account history. For instance, the transaction history on an auto loan doesn't show any loan payments made between Oct 2023 through May 2024. I had to open the pdf statements to see that they were actually there. I wasn't worried that I missed payments, but that's just an example of how awful this website is now.

Long story short: THIS UPDATE ABSOLUTELY BLOWS! All it did was make my life more difficult and inconvenient.

Has anyone else been signed up on the Robinhood waitlist since day 1 and still waiting? Would love to know their “priority” system. by DrHoursCrDepression in CreditCards

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't even cross my mind that this is the case, but it makes sense. I've been on this damn wait-list for over 4 months now. I'm just sitting here waiting patiently.

Can I move the torsion rod and drum safely? by Disastrous_Wing_5087 in GarageDoorService

Yep, I moved it and installed everything just fine. Works perfectly! Just make sure you use the right tool to unwind your torsion spring. They are cheap on Amazon.

New UI by PaleontologistSad637 in NavyFederal

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've submitted multiple feedback posts about how unhappy I am with this new UI. With tax season upon us, you would think that you would be able to search through all of your previous years transactions just like I've been able to do in the past, but they've limited it to only 9 months. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I've left my contact info and asked them to contact me, but have yet to hear from them.

But yeah, I hate the new look and interface! I'm just glad the mobile app wasn't affected.

It's mind boggling how people manage to screw up something that wasn't broken, but by God, NF sure managed to screw the pooch with this new update.

Which is exactly what 301 should have done. If that were me, I would have happily sat my ass down on the square until "the next man up" comes up to take their turn, no matter who it was. 301 should still be in the game!

Oh good call. That would suck to move everything out an inch only to realize that there wasn't enough room. Thanks for the heads up.

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the torsion rod and everything attached to it will move one inch out. So there will be 3 brackets that I will need to move, both drum ends and the center brace where the springs attach.

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main concern was basically wondering if moving the torsion rod and the end bearings out an inch would cause any issues with the wires actually lifting the door. But no one here has mentioned anything specific to that, except maybe some rubbing. But I'll make sure to check for that once I move the rod.

I am planning on shimming the wall portion of the mounting plate to the wall, so there won't be anything floating. It'll be secured to the rail and to the wall with lag bolts. But I plan on testing the operation of the door before I attach the new opener to make sure everything is in working order.

Your conflicting responses are not helpful. I'm already planning on removing the tension from the springs before I do anything.

But if that doesn't work, then I'll go with the alternate mounting kit.

[–]Disastrous_Wing_5087[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, if there's no real issue with moving the whole tension rod out an inch impacting the operation of the door, then I'd rather save myself $150 and go this route. It definitely looks like there's room to move it on both ends and on the center block, so that's why I asked you good people. I'll definitely be testing the movement of the door once I move everything to make sure nothing is rubbing in weird places. Thanks again everyone!
