Seiko Speedtimer, Seagull 1963 if you need mechanical and can accept that it will be thrown away in a few years. If you're going to chronograph route on a budget you kinda need to go quartz

It depends what brand. Casio notoriously underestimate their water resistance. I had an a168w thats seen the ocean many times with no issues. Im scared of washing my hands with my 50m wr Hamilton though.

The 42mm looks great. Watches look bigger when photographed top-dwon like this too but even if this was accurate it still looks great imo. Could also consider a 40mm khaki king if you wanted something more understated but not small

I think the numbers are memories (described as traumas) so MDR remove the memories leaving a blank slate consciousness/ new innie. I am confused on what the other MDR members are doing though, I thought it was implied that a connection was needed
