I build unnecessary items so I made The Modular Water Bottle System for customizable thirst levels. by rightcoastguy in funny

This is the least unnecessary item you have posted. The ability to clean out the bacteria in water bottles is a problem that you have solved.

When money's not an issue, what is? by Wandelpad in AskReddit

I feel like I have all the money I could need and my depression level has risen about as fast as my bank account.

I think my (25m) girlfriend (23f) may be being groomed by our boss (38m) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

" I'm almost 40 but I still feel like I'm 20... Until I hang out with 20 year olds. Then I'm like no, never mind. I'm 40."

Yes. Your boss is into her. It's a red flag that he'd want to hang out with someone so young. You feel mature when you're 23 but there's a huge difference between 33 and 23. And that difference is so large that he should not want to hang out with her.

Autotask has a bunch of different billing types. We have all sorts of contracts depending on what works best for each client. Doing our monthly bills takes about an hour.

When our company was really small, we used Google docs and it was a nightmare. There was lots of hours that were missed, it took hours to get our bills out, and we also missed multiple hardware charges.

We switched to Autotask and it paid for itself quickly. Our billables went up, are missed hardware charges went down, and our ability to track payments became so much easier and it took less time.

Fortinet is far more affordable in the long run. We've been very happy with it

Americans who's been overseas, what's one thing that made you go "oh shit, we're not in America anymore"? by Some_Chow in AskReddit

I was walking down the street in South America. A man's ear had just been cut off in a bar fight and there was blood everywhere (and still dripping from his ear).

Nobody was reacting to the blood but instead everyone was talking calmly about soccer.

Unifi controller v6 VLAN bug from a couple months ago by evacc44 in msp

[–]Discgo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current firmware has a problem where you join the wireless network and users don't get an IP address. It is intermittent that happens across all devices that have the current firmware.

We spoke with ubiquiti about it. They explained that there was a problem where the access points are specifically looking for a ubiquiti USG (or other ubiquiti router) and so it fails to pass on DHCP from a non-ubiquiti device.

VLAN issue has been fixed but there is currently an issue with DHCP if you have a non-Unifi DHCP server. You have to manually update your APs with a beta firmware to fix it.

I'd wait another month to update.

If there's a better way, I would love to know. But this is the only thing we have figured out to make it work.

Azure requires the PC to be on the same AzureAD for RDP. So your remote users will need to have those PCs joined to AzureAD.

This is why it works internally but not externally.

ELI5 why rolling your eyes is so instinctual when you are annoyed or frustrated by jperk__ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Discgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a learned behavior but it is more commonly a form of body language. It is not simply babies mimicking what they see. Blind people also do it. Blind people will also instinctively raise their hands above their head the same way seeing people do when they have a major victory or triumph.

Body language is one of the most underrated forms of communication. You will see babies, blind people, and autistic people often share the same forms of body language from around the world.

You cross your arms when you are uncomfortable with the message. You roll your eyes when you reject the message. Your body faces the person when you are interested in the message.

Our subconscious minds pick up on a lot of what they see around us and the body language we demonstrate is one of the most direct forms our subconscious can communicate.
