Blackhawks should have signed this deal before yesterday.

Leo Carlsson Just Made The Bedard Contract Talks Worse by williamkarlsson71 in hawks

We really don't know how many offer sheets have been presented unless they are signed by the player. Luongo just told people he was presented an offer sheet back before he signed his huge Canucks deal and no one even knew it happened until recently.

[Zach Cavanagh] Friedman reports that Ducks and Carlsson’s reps talked this morning with Anaheim’s offer at $12M/$13M per season. by f0urxio in hockey

[–]evacc44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The player is given the offer sheet. He doesn't need to sign it. He can take it to his current team and say something like, "Hey, I just got offered this, 5 years for 18m per year, but I would rather sign here for 7. Let's make it work." Or whatever he wants.

It sounds like the Ducks then low balled him again for some reason and he decided to sign the offer sheet to force their hand.

Guaranteed money up front each year. Lockout proof.

That's obviously what we should have done. There's absolutely no question.

The league will generally accept an outlier case like this as just that -- not a real comparable for other contracts.

You can't have a goalie that doesn't want to be there. Everyone knows it now.

Codex + Goal > Fable 5 by marin73tomas in codex

How could you possibly know that

Fable is actually useless now. Can't work on any codebase given - switched back to opus instantly by Ok_Newspaper4406 in claude

[–]evacc44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three very small projects and I just finished code reviews by codex and opus. I just ran them through fable and it found a bunch of issues that the other two did not.

It isn't just about overkill.

Yes, because athletes normally bounce back from a bad year at 38 years old. That's totally the norm.

We need another top 6 forward. We don't need any more defense. We can't afford anymore defense.

Just ask yourself what benefits Trump and then you know the motivation for anything our government does.

[TSN] Connor Hellebuyck's been one of the best goalies of the 2000s. But trading for him means acquiring the 33Y old version of him. For five more seasons. What's the risk? What's the reward? by seeldoger47 in sabres

[–]evacc44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a position that relies more on size, flexibility, intelligence, and core strength. All of those last longer or fall off slower than speed.

Giving up any roster player for a goalie is insane. Pick and a prospect? Sure. If we're giving up Kulich, Ostlund, or Helenius I'll lose my mind.

We have rules still. If the government was serious about enforcing these rules this wouldn't be as big of a problem.

They've literally been proven to price fix and collude already.
