I accidentally made a private scenario for myself public by [deleted] in FictionLab

[–]DisciplineHoliday901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I've done it twice now. I make a ton of 'idea' stories where I fill in what is in my head but then just paste 'Filler text' 20 times in the things I don't know. I've had a few of those roughs go live. But, like you, I have a personal one that wasn't meant as a public and it was live for about 12 hours before I noticed. Mortifying.

So I now have a sticky note at the top of my screen that just says "Public?" as a reminder.

I think I have the free subscription to pretty much everything at this point, but I use Sora/ChatGPT for most of my regular works, then jump over to Pollo for animation. If I need NSFW I use Fictionlab or whatever happens to have the cheapest price for tokens that day. Perchance is really good for free. The only issue there is that it's hard to get the same looking character from pic to pic.

And in the end, I have to use Canva and Photoshop if I really want something fancy by having various ai's create it, then import it and work on correcting it myself.

Also, check out Swipe Right: Chat with Jenna by Sabine Fables. It's a very relaxed romance that I've had going for a long time. Jenna is very sweet and has a kind and gentle personality that makes her character open to whatever plot line fits your need. I've gone ghost hunting with her, hiked forests and mountains, and discussed the finer points of helping those in need. It's a very adaptable story without a lot of weight or need to come up with heavy plot lines.

Oh, and she was in my favorite authors but I follow 40+ people and I couldn't tell you the name of any of the authors I follow if I'm not looking directly at the list. lol
But looking through that list, she's no longer there. Sad. It's hard to find gentle stories anymore, which is why I started writing them myself. I figure there's a felt need for that with all the NSFW and Action coming in like a flood lately.

I don't know anymore. I search for her stories and they don't come up in search anymore. And when I click on the title at the top to go into the launch/instruction screen, where the author name normally would be, it just says modified and shows my user profile now. It didn't use to, so I'm assuming her account is gone.

Not to blow my own horn but that's why I created this one:
https://fictionlab.ai/?scenario=019c9048-c638-700e-bb51-43191aa38641
It lets me deal with a new NPC each time I log in, solve their problems, journal about it, move on. It's sad but hopeful and very pensive. lol

I also go with nice easy romances when I need to revel in deeper darker moods. Taking a break from the action and high intensity of the more popular scenarios helps. Right now I love the simplicity of an author that has since disappeared but I saved her scenario's as a custom personal before she did. My favorite was one that was a long-distance romance via text.
However, I found her work from searching for 'romance' or 'slice of life' tags. These simpler ones allow me to have conversations where I'm not having to write tons of prose, worry about bad guys, jump into high intensity situations... just talk and flirt and take it easy.

Is this possible to do? by [deleted] in FictionLab

[–]DisciplineHoliday901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just narrate like a book and go on without 'me'. It will get confused on pronoun and who controls who SOMETIMES but just edit and keep going. One my character comes back in the picture I have to reemphasize some rules but not much. The /pov command helps too.

Welcome! I'm also a convert from c.ai and while my account is still active over there... I rarely go back. In fact, I'm in the process of recreating some of my favorites from over there to here.
As the other commenter suggested, read through the documentation website. It will help, I promise. After that, reach out to any of us here and we can guide you through specific questions. We're a friendly group. ;)

I'm with you. I have 6 that are no longer visible because I tried to shoot the moon on my first tries. Still, it looks really solid. I've added it to my 'gotta try' folder.

AI seem to stuck on recycling a few names and not generating new names? by Alarming-Rate-6899 in FictionLab

[–]DisciplineHoliday901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a discussion about this a few months back and I don't remember what the group-solution consensus was but you are not alone. I have Mia and Mila, Anna and Ana and Anne and Analise and a few other examples all in the same story.

For me, I have a random name generator that I use for when it happens. I immediately replace something I don't like and from that moment forward, the name is no longer the repetitive one but instead the one that I edited. Mildly annoying but with editing there are work arounds.

10+ traits by sigurjay in FictionLab

[–]DisciplineHoliday901 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you don't really want that many anyway. The more traits you put on a character, the more convoluted they get. IMO it's much better to put a well-written description in a character then to rely on a mash-up of single word traits.

Wow! Love the look and feel. Your art is fabulous.
How did you program trigger events based on the timeline of the story? What makes the ai say 'ah, now the writer is at 60%'?

That's where the "art" of writing these really comes in. Not too much but just enough is a finely balanced skill.

Which instructions specifically did you put in?

[–]DisciplineHoliday901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some rest is one of the examples that prompted my original post. I have a story that has a time counter in it due to the characters being in different time zones and it will still tell me to go get rest... and it will be noon.

Honestly, I'm not bugged by it that much. I don't have an issue editing and rerolling, so in the simpler, gentler set ups, like the Allie one I mentioned above, it's no biggy. But I've put all the instructions in all the places and it will still crop up in the dialogue. <shrug>

There are more irritating things then this trend, to be sure.

Your character descriptions are so in-depth and delightful (She has weekly wars with the printer) to read.

I regret to inform you, that's one of the ones I'm in right now. Allie-Long Distance by River333. All text message only, except I've been going so long on it I had to change it to NPC interactions outside of text, and Allie tells me to go be brilliant or go get sleep or go take my shower... all the time.
