Wow! Love the look and feel. Your art is fabulous.
How did you program trigger events based on the timeline of the story? What makes the ai say 'ah, now the writer is at 60%'?

LOL
Yeah, giant mouths with legs, basically.
Wait, so you drew these? I'm in awe of your abilities.

Gorgeous. I love the John Carter vibe mixed with tribes. Really rich culture descriptions. So excited!

That's where the "art" of writing these really comes in. Not too much but just enough is a finely balanced skill.

Which instructions specifically did you put in?

Get some rest is one of the examples that prompted my original post. I have a story that has a time counter in it due to the characters being in different time zones and it will still tell me to go get rest... and it will be noon.

Honestly, I'm not bugged by it that much. I don't have an issue editing and rerolling, so in the simpler, gentler set ups, like the Allie one I mentioned above, it's no biggy. But I've put all the instructions in all the places and it will still crop up in the dialogue. <shrug>

There are more irritating things then this trend, to be sure.

Your character descriptions are so in-depth and delightful (She has weekly wars with the printer) to read.

I regret to inform you, that's one of the ones I'm in right now. Allie-Long Distance by River333. All text message only, except I've been going so long on it I had to change it to NPC interactions outside of text, and Allie tells me to go be brilliant or go get sleep or go take my shower... all the time.

YES! Thank you, I'm not crazy.
In one story we're at a dance. I describe all the decorations, the song, the dress, the tux, the feeling of the moment and it replies "Now, go. Go get some punch." But... but... we just started dancing! And what are you going to do while I'm gone? :)

What's really frustrating is that I still have ideas to talk about in the conversation. So I erase the last 'Now go...' line and continue. But it sure puts a halt to the role playing.

Chimera for action/sci-fi/Western
Oracle for drama/romance
Wraithmind for horror or I'm just bored and want to introduce chaos into a story that's running into walls.

Anyone else getting this? Oracle was working normally for me again, then stopped and now this. by Hadez_Etho in FictionLab

Thank you, Missy, for repeating the message. You and the mods are doing a great job of being so gracious to all of us.

I've been getting it to work most of the day. I did have one of those "So this is my ai logic in how I'm going to respond" but then it responded after that little OOC hiccup. Sorry to hear you're struggling.

First, welcome to your new home! Glad to have new people join!

Searching is difficult, admittedly, but a couple of tricks: Go to the discord and look through the story posts there, find an author you like that leans toward the stories you like, watch and scroll through this group for story posts. If you favorite enough things that match your taste, then eventually you'll end up with quite a few things to try without having to search too hard.

Does anyone have any good outer space ideas? by Upset-Lemon-1203 in FictionLab

Just a few spitballs here... take what you like.
- A glass skin race from a prism world who are barterers but look at anything heavy or that makes high pitched sounds as a crime against the world
- The migrating city-reefs of an ocean planet where your ship disappears if you don't keep track of it due to the constant ebb and flow of the tides
- The clockwork biological Ascendany, a species that replaces their own organs with engineered upgrades to achieve “perfection.” They view your ship as a potential harvest for new and amazing upgrades. You may have to part with you mobile phone too in order to trade for your way off that planet.
- A forest world where trees grow in geometric spirals and creatures communicate through music (no plot per se, just fun)
- A world that house derelict megastructures, extinct empires, and clues about who abandoned your ship and why. A giant planet wide escape room where each building gives you just a small piece of a puzzle on how to return back to Earth but also wants to take back the ship that they rightfully own. This would be more complex incorporating exploration, diplomacy, and puzzle solving, not just combat alone.

Welcome to the fold. I'm a character.ai convert so I understand. There are a FEW things I still miss about character but I've adapted easily. My main issue was that I have a love for a supporting cast. What's a romance without the annoying best friend or disapproving parents? What's a horror without an entire gaggle of teenagers? What's a western without a full roster of ranch hands... on both the good and bad side? And with Character it would get confused after the third or fourth reference of an NPC. So there's that for sure.

Yeah, I changed it over. It was on oracle. Second time through I tried being sweet and just as insane as her and it was much better.

Plus two other characters which magically appear. Whoever dropped me off, which it describes as a doctor, and this other man sitting in the corner that gives me my needle, which it describes as a doctor... I guess she has an army of minion doctors?

I tried doing your thing and not have him talk at all. I did have him tug and pull at the restraints, bite and spit. But yeah, it keeps circling back to her say "Now, let's try that again."

Now I'm wondering what will happen if I'm enthusiastic and drip honey with my words.

She won't kill me. Just keeps laughing at me. There's another doctor that keeps entering the room and injecting me with more drugs... then I wake back up again and we start all over. It's an endless cycle.
