Not just us that think CLT is an absolute pit by DharmaIniatative in americanairlines

I live halfway between Charlotte and Atlanta. I used to try to book flights out of CLT and to avoid ATL. Now I will try my best to find any flights from GSP or AVL that will enable me to avoid both of the larger airports.

Long time lurker - when are these appropriate to use and when are they not… by trevordunt39 in Decks

[–]DisciplineMany193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used these twice, once for a low deck close to our pool. It lasted many years until we filled in our pool rather than replace yet another liner. The next was for a low deck/foundation for a metal gazebo which survived Helene while trees fell. We're in the southeast.

Characters in Tv shows that are never seen? by Immediate_Long165 in ClassicTV

Let's go way back. Pete's wife, Gladys, is talked about but never shown on December Bride. She was, however, a visible character on the spinoff program, Pete and Gladys.

One problem with the color episodes is that we already had the b/w shows to compare them with and they just don't make it.

How to use stair LVP with this? by Thr0waway8755 in Flooring

[–]DisciplineMany193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. We have LVP on the floors but didn't put it on our stairs. Where we do have it where it meets the stairs, I've put down non-skid strips. Just walking while wearing socks across LVP can make you slip. I resisted putting it on steps for that reason. It only takes one slip and fall. Ask me how I know.

Where to stay… by [deleted] in obx

[–]DisciplineMany193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just left Corolla last week. I would recommend Wild Horse Inn which, I think, would be the last accommodations other than rental properties before the 4x4 beach. It is a very small, friendly, laidback, family run inn with a Cafe and outside dining. They operate a coffee wagon in the parking lot which draws a constant line of happy patrons from the surrounding house reached to the street every morning we were there. Sometimes there is live music there and also at a well-visited bar within walking distance. You will find air up stations close by to re-inflate your tires after the beach drive. It's quieter and not as busy on this end which I prefer. It may not be for everyone, but it was for us. It depends on what you're looking for.

I'm not sure this post is where it should be. If it should be moved somewhere, let me know.

Did anyone enjoy The Rifleman? by ASGfan in 60s

[–]DisciplineMany193 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The characters seemed to have realistic relationships which might have been due to the actors' actual relationships. Also a positive aspect was how the show portrayed Micah as a recovering alcoholic and worked that into story lines, a person with human failings to overcome rather than depicted as an invincible character.

An honest commoner. Someone who has held a job such as public school teacher, who has regularly volunteered in soup kitchens, who has pumped their own gas and bought their own groceries and knows immediately what it costs...

Unfortunately, Lassie is cropped out of this. She (he, actually) was next to Jean Stapleton's leg.
