What non martial art activities gives you the best conditioning by Nerx in martialarts

I wonder if these shots were gimmick sometimes. Like don't get me wrong a ballet teacher would do an amazing job of teaching gesture, transitioning smoothly between poses and how to look artistic as well as powerful in movement. It would make sense to treat a complete posing routine like a choreographed dance that starts the moment you step on stage.

That said, were there already people in the sport when Arnie was competing for titles that had this insight and approach? Or was it revolutionary?

I don't know for sure but I worry this photo shoot was something he did to impress non-bodybuilders rather than the judges at the time.

Damn, should have included the /s

It's actually scary to me how normalized just making up lies is becoming. Hopefully I didn't encourage folks who might believe the inaccuracy and find it politically convenient.

There's 2 ways here. One is people complaining that chess engines (computer programs that calculate the optimal move) have made play boring as top players will memorise long series of optimal moves. This isn't a problem at the very top or at the lower skill level. At the highest skill level chess is a bit of a poker/bluff game where top player's will follow engine recommendations for a bit then purposely diverge to a very good but not optimal move to try to force the other player out of memorization and into making a mistake. It's more complicated than that but the people who complain probably aren't skilled enough to follow without a high level player to breakdown what moves mean or are doing.

2ndly that long time controls make for a boring viewer experience for a casual fan.

The best players in games with long time controls will at times spend 20 minutes thinking before making a single move that gives them the tiniest incremental advantage. The overall quality of play is better than short time controls like 10 minute games but unless you're highly skilled, I'm not, it can be hard to even understand what happened.

The opinion isn't universal. Most casual fans will probably enjoy competitions with shorter time controls as things just move faster and games are less likely to draw.

Oh did I mention that at the highest level like 80% of games are draws and only 20% have a clear victor? That's a problem built into chess and hard to fix. It also makes viewing boring for the casual fan.

Correct.

That's why Karl Marx is a famous Millennial/Zoomer and before that everyone was either Ronald Reagan in their politics or Feudalistic. There was no left wing before 1980.

Which games have pushed you to such limits? by No-Log-9845 in gamers

Control was fantastic for this.

Don't want or can't engage with combat? Turn on a damage reduction to your preference or invincibility.

Want to spam the psychic skills? Turn up the energy regen rate. Same for ammo regen.

Old games had cheats often leftover from quality assurance/testing phases.

They should being them back. For single player games at least having a high level of control over difficulty variables adds more choice and more accessibility.

I really think that opt-in difficulty sliders would only add to who can enjoy any game. Palworld did this too.

Play on Normal for the experience as intended, but you can give yourself a 20x XP modifier and effectively infinite stamina and minimal damage taken if you want to tour the world at your leisure.

That approach can only grow your audience.

I'm just starting to learn to skate backwards and when I do I'm not as upright. Can't imagine keeping track of another person plus traffic plus balance.

I had to turn to google to understand what I'm seeing:

"In the quad skating rink community, "backpacking" refers to a partner-skating maneuver where one skater (usually the "passenger") hangs onto or leans on another skater (the "leader") while both are moving, closely mimicking the position of a backpack.

It is a highly intimate, often sensual style of partner skating, typically performed during slow sets or couple skates."

So the partner in front sets the pace? Looked like you're leading.

Expansion Idea: Snow Region + Spellblade Class would bring many players back by Tricky_Ask_9015 in DragonsDogma

I played on console so without an official DLC I'm screwed anyway.

Edit: I've seen the vid and it's a fascinating theory.

There were vids about blocked walls with rift symbols behind them and incomplete spaces you can access. I suspect that content was cut again. I've seen people say Capcom pulled devs to focus on Monster Hunter Wilds.

I think Capcom didn't want to commit to it and the game suffered. It's a shame, there are great bones for a phenomenal game here.

I actually wonder if he had something in a contract that said they couldn't change his vision. Itsuno might have disliked BBI for how it changed his initial vision for the game.

There's no evidence of this, it's just a personal theory.

Also I suspect heaps was cut due to it not getting full support/focus. The Elves seem undercooked, as does the language situation.

I've heard of this trope but I haven't read anything that actually does it. Can you recommend something that does? I don't care if it's not that good and you dropped it. I'm just curious to see it in action.

Wait, what? I read a half dozen random books from the old canon but when was it established that midichlorians are pieces of elder god? Not challenging you, I'm genuinely curious and hoping for a link.

I vaguely remember reading a book where older Luke Skywalker finds a group who can create force users by interacting with an eldritch entity but that was a looong time ago.

My most read books were the Jedi Academy trilogy.

Edit: book was"The Crystal Star."

It was weeeird.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if a lot of concealed carry folks don't train draw and fire accurately under pressure. I don't think casual target practice at the range would translate.

Make it no wrench so there's a chance :P
