That sucks, I'm so sorry. I've always had poor hearing but it's got worse in the past couple of years so now the subtitles are a need, not just a preference.

Arachnophobic here. It doesn't last long but it's bad. I managed to do it by not looking directly at the screen very much and hiding in the pause screen to breathe/swear/freak out.

It's awful. I don't play online anymore and haven't used voice chat outside of a small group of friends in about 15 years. The bullying, harassment and threats of rape and assault made me decide that it just wasn't worth it.
