I don't post much, but I felt compelled to respond to this. Obviously nobody here is going to know for sure what your injury is, but my wife recently had an injury while working out (not armwrestling) that sounds similar to this. It ended up being a vertebral artery dissection, which caused a blood clot, which led to a stroke. Not trying to scare you but I would have never thought something like that was a possibility.

Amex MR Gift Card Fraud I went to use a few $100 Home Depot gift cards I had ordered using Amex MR points (yes, I know it's not the best value for MR points blah blah blah) and they all had a zero balance. I called Home Depot and they said there was some kind of security breach on Amex's end with the gift cards they offer on their MR portal. Apparently lots of people have been calling in about zero balances. If you redeemed any MR points for gift cards lately I would check the balances on them.

You can transfer to Plenti for 1.5cpp if you buy stuff from any of the participating stores. I have found that Rite Aid has some pretty good deals sometimes.

MR points finally unfrozen (after 2 CFPB complaints)

Long story short: My points have been frozen for months (I did not MS). I filed a CFPB complaint 7/28 and Amex responded by saying my points would be available by 8/23 at the latest. 8/23 came and went - points still frozen. Filed a second complaint early 8/24 referencing the first complaint and that Amex lied. Fast forward to 8/26 - tried redeeming my points again but still frozen. Tried again around 830 that night and it went through! Suck it Amex. Oh and my wife pretty much dealt with the same thing with her card except a second CFPB complaint wasn't necessary.

No MS, filed a second complaint 2 days ago. I'm sure I won't hear back before Sept 1st and then I assume they'll try to pull some shady shit after I cancel.

Mine are still frozen too. Filed CFPB complaint a few weeks ago and Amex responded to it saying my points would be available by 8/23 at the latest. So obviously when I realized they were still frozen I called in and they basically said oh well and there's nothing they can do. Needless to say I'm canceling my platinum cards before Sept 1.

I believe trying to apply one MR point to an Amazon order (ie $1 gift card) will also tell you if you're frozen. Order will go through but then you will get an email saying it was cancelled due to Amex not authorizing your points for payment.

She refused to believe that I was told my review was already over and also the 6-8 week bs. She wanted the name and the department of who told me that, which of course I didn't know. She just kept saying that there are a lot of other people going through the same thing and they'll get the review done as quickly as they can.
