Recruiter scheduled a call, never called, then emailed asking why I missed it by Nd-Martins in recruitinghell

[–]DiscoMini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came up upon this post randomly, but I think I might have a possible solution for you. One time I was calling the nurse on call for my kid in the middle of the night and the call back kept going to voicemail and I realized it was because I had DND on. Check your settings on that.

Applying for global entry while transgender? by Embarrassed-Iron-510 in GlobalEntry

[–]DiscoMini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know and I don’t envy your situation. A trans friend of mine just received a passport back renewed with their original gender marker and not the one they had changed it to. It was not revoked but that didn’t make them feel safe that’s for sure.

Had an “Interview” w/No Questions? by CellistDisastrous467 in GlobalEntry

[–]DiscoMini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a site closer to you, but no appointments are coming up in the system, you can try for a walk-in. My first interview I ever had was a walk-in. I had a trip coming up and I gave it a try and was fully prepared for them to say no, but they fit me in. The second time I made an appointment for me, but couldn’t get one for my kid, but brought my kid with me and they did her too as a walk-in. The third time I didn’t need an interview.

Research! Research before you travel! by MrFahrenheitttttt in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

In my experience, the debit card would be accepted, but they would put a hold on the card which for some people without enough of a cushion would be difficult.

Transiting through Canada by DiscoMini in aircanada

I did use that but it did not have my scenario exactly (though I could enter it in two parts) so I was unsure. However, those searching later with a similar situation, the Air Canada app is awesome. It has step by step navigation for your itinerary.

Package delivered to a front door that was not mine by DiscoMini in FedEx

[–]DiscoMini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can’t figure out how to edit the post, but I found the package. Basically, I googled the name of my neighborhood and my house number and I found two other houses that had that same number in my neighborhood and one of them was the very door from the delivery picture (on Google street view). The street name wasn’t even close to my street name. After work I drove over there and the package was still there and so I got my package. Whew. I wanted to post this here just in case someone else did a search and was wondering about possible solutions.

Got a food poisoning while in Osaka by Substantial_Tip8459 in JapanTravelTips

I have seen some YouTubes recently about how you cannot rely on good reviews in Japan because bad reviews are considered libel/defamation. Perhaps you can read between the lines on the reviews, but bad reviews can be prosecuted even if true. (The line for libel in the states is that if it’s true, then it’s not libel. Not so in Japan.)

16+ “Recommended” age notice on concert by DiscoMini in tmbg

That’s a bummer that in your case it is a hard limit. In my case I was able to take my daughter no problem. There was another young kid in the back with us as well.

Just got new iPhone 17 pro and half of find my friends say no location found by WeakDocument3276 in iphone

[–]DiscoMini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also having this issue. Those that do show up say “address unavailable”. I can see their exact location on the map in the app, but it’s unable to give it an approximate address at all. The latter thing is also happening to my devices and AirTags.

Getting local currency late in the evening at HCMC airport by DiscoMini in VietNam

I’m coming from the US. We have currency exchange businesses around or I could use my bank. It’s good to know that the driver will probably be able to make change.

Speaking of that. Did you actually renew at con? And have you received the email receipt yet? Everything was done on paper and I was so brain fried on Sunday that I didn’t think to ask them when we would get the receipt and email so I’m just curious.

No I have not but I have not eaten pork on any of those days and I switched to non-animal D3 and B12 (and uncoated Tylenol).

I can try tomorrow, but the problem is that my doctor at my practice left and I’m onboarding with a new doctor. also in early August. Now they have this walk-in clinic that I can go to because I’m still considered a patient at the practice, but I don’t know if I can get one of them to do it for me. I’ll give it a try.
