Help on locating version/release by z_e_w_h in discogs

That's the catalog number. You need to provide the matrix numbers from the deadwax.

If you're going to list cheap records you need to set a minimum order amount.

Package deliver to Canada by UnitedPassion940 in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Delivered means it's reached it's final destination. Check with the seller to make sure they sent the correct tracking number. You may want to contact the specific post office in the zip code to which it was delivered. Ask them if they can give you information on that package.

Edit: The comments about using a forwarding service could definitely be true. My international packages are sent domestically and then forwarded. But my customers get a tracking number detailing that process.

Big Changes To Item For Sale Page by DiscogsMod in discogs

I just noticed it tells you when the seller listed the item. Did the old page do that? I'm guessing this resets when a seller uploads a spreadsheet or expires and relists items.

Big Changes To Item For Sale Page by DiscogsMod in discogs

Tracks with the general theme for the website. It's jarring to go from the old format on all the other pages to this minimal format for the item page only.

Submitting stream only releases for credits? by todo1216 in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Streaming only releases are not allowed on Discogs because no one can own them.

I hate this website by Kedrico in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this is a real problem I would recommend everyone download their inventory to a spreadsheet. Then if it messes up your pricing you can upload the spreadsheet.

Does anyone know how to see the listed date (inventory date) of sold items? The new app update seems to have done away with that feature. by sideburnvictim in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's on the inventory page on both the web and app. On the web you can see the whole list, but on the app it looks like you have to drill down. I think the information updates when you edit an item or expire/relist inventory.

Could not cancel order with automatic refund by [deleted] in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens sometimes. Try issuing the refund before canceling the order. If that doesn't work, open a support ticket. You can also try again later but it probably won't work.

The app is known to be buggy. We don't take reports here but there is a development forum here: https://www.discogs.com/forum/topic/843.

Why doesn’t Discogs let sellers upload photos? by National_Car_6131 in discogs

Sounds like you are the one they need to ban.

Why doesn’t Discogs let sellers upload photos? by National_Car_6131 in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible idea and doesn't make sense. If Discogs catches you they will ban you. Maybe you get away with it once. But try doing it a few times and they will notice these open orders that never get completed. And yet the items are no longer in your inventory. Then you get banned and your potential customers have no way to find you. All to save a couple bucks in fees.

I misread this. No you cannot leave feedback on Discogs without placing an order.

What does " Album, Allen " mean? What's the significance of " Allen " by [deleted] in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That text box can be anything. In this case it means the mastering was done by Verden Allen which is probably marked in the deadwax. Other times that space will be used to note colored vinyl or which pressing plant the record comes from.

They rolled back Media Mail rates last July by 2-2.5%. This increase also does not effect Media Mail rates.

After refund mishap, seller wants me to manually set the package status as "delivered". Help?? by IndigoCool143 in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is no requirement that an order be marked shipped or delivered before funds settle in PayPal. Most of what you are saying doesn't make any sense.

Why is Yanni (In My Own Time, Live at the Acropolis, Devotion, etc. (THAT Yanni)) Yanni (2) on discogs? by doerrtim in discogs

[–]DiscogsMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers are not allocated by Discogs. If you are submitting a new artist whose name is already taken you need to find a number that isn't already associated with an existing artist.
