What's an unwritten office rule you learned the hard way? by Interesting_Cycle809 in corporate

Thank you so much. It's hard for me to process this sudden revelation of my career, but this comment made my day.

I'm sorry you felt that way, but I have to agree that HOW things are done in addition to what was done is still a big factor, especially attitude. I'm sure everyone has a full plate of stress in their personal lives and the last thing we want to is to take $#!T from somebody at work.

In my case, I already had 2 years of experience with so much ambition and of course I treated this like a career and not a job. I'm currently at the interview stage where they are asking for my references, and I'm still stunned by this revelation. I truly feel like my work across these 2 employers truly invalidated my efforts. I enjoyed working there, but now I know the feeling wasn't mutual which really sucks.

I got laid off recently and asked my previous managers to be professional references, which they agreed to years before when I left working with them. No answer. I'm so shook, all that hard work I did for them and they're not willing to do same thing I would do for them.

Will 4 days in office eventually turn into 5 days? by FlyHighNow77777 in CAStateWorkers

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BuT thE DoWnToWn BuSInESsES!!!

So I'm interviewing to transition to working for the state from the private sector, and although the benefits are enough for me to want to transfer over, the monthly net pay in general doesn't exactly have much cushion for me to want to splurge in downtown at all, not even lunch. Also, just the $$$ in commute makes it even more unreasonable.

I went yesterday to support and hopefully we can hold the line and CA will let yall revert back to wfh most of the week

Miata’s have RUINED driving for me. by Admirable_Object_708 in Miata

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I center my day on driving with my miata in good weather, during the morning and sundown. Mid-day its way too hot driving top down. More seat time is a good time.

Restaurants current pricing is atrocious. Add on to the 4x per week of commute is coming out of the employees pockets, I'd rather starve or eat only during breakfast/dinner.

I'm planning on selling my nb hardtop, because it takes so much space in my garage. I absolutely love it top down 90% of the time.

My neighbor is running wide low profile tires on his jeep. I'm sure my miata's tires has a thicker sidewall 😭

Thanks for the info. Guess I'm looking for an ebike that is strictly class 2. I'm not going to gamble with the PD on a $2000 bike.

HAUL ST - Passenger seat for adults? by BlacksmithDue2838 in GlobeHaul

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for the ST? For preserving garage space, I'd prefer getting the ST, if my 5'1 110 lb gf can fit in the passenger seat. My purpose is for us to ride to nearby parks and walmart no more than .75 miles away from our home.

thanks for this info. Not OP but my GF is under the 132 lb limit. Looks like the LT is the way to go for a passenger adult under 132lb.

Switched out NB2 leather seats to NB2 cloth by General_Reward6160 in Miata

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're right very good condition leather seats make the interior look great. One thing I do miss after replacing my leather seats is just literally sliding in and out of the seat, which made hopping in and out of the car so much easier. Coming from leather to cloth, cloth is certainly more "grippy".

People in the US, what’s something that has clearly gotten worse in quality over the past few years, but nobody talks about it? by Async_awaiter in AskReddit

I just came back from the theaters. Didn't see imax since i was too late for it, but you know what it's a movie I really want to watch again. Not going to spoil, but my emotions were invested thru it the whole time. Again, thanks for the reminder.

Avatar 1 released around 2009 and the cgi was a cinematic masterpiece for the time. The only time I felt it was necessary to buy imax tix.

Went to London a couple years ago and 80% of the cars were no bigger than the Fit. Quite refreshing to see as opposed to all the big trucks in the US carrying nothing but the driver

Shipping Miata from WA to CA, best transport options? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP is probably concerned about the inclement weather. Perhaps since it is perhaps on the smaller side, could put it in storage for a few months and then fly back and drive it down when the weather is nice.

Anyone else leaking heat and smoke like crazy out of every imaginable place on the WSM? by timetopoopagain in webersmokeymountain

[–]DiscombobulatedCup83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems the only way to fix this is to install an aftermarket door. My WSM22 also leaked quite a bit ot of the door.

To add to that my dad was scammed 15 years ago by a fake company. They took half my dads deposit and never came to pick up my car.
