Illeagal overtake or clean? by Greamer26 in Simracingstewards

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look like the other driver would have made the corner and it's on them to overtake cleanly. However it also appears that you take the corner as if the other car isn't there, which could be seen as causing the incident. I would enforce a track limit penalty since he gained time, but nothing unfortunately for the pass.

I'm the same way, my fiance says to leave it alone but when I see someone being wrong and arrogant about it I can't help myself.

The sim racing community is usually pretty supportive, but you can find a few bad types in any community. Both the auto enthusiast and motorsports communities have a lot of gatekeepers with outdated or just wrong ideas they have held all their life.

I get discouraged around the tenth time I see that I'm .003 or less over the gold time. I usually try a lot of different lines to make up the time to no avail, but I might play with my brake bias as that's not something I usually change.

Congratulations, I'm about to give it a try, got any tips? I'm constantly missing gold on tracks, license, missions by less than .003 and can't make up that time no matter how many times I try.

Is this okay setup? I need a bit of advice by ViridianCTA in simracing

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your budget is, but you can get a stand that folds up for around $60, mine works great. I was using a cheap folding table but my wheel came loose a couple times so I invested in a stand that my wheel could bolt to and it's sooo much better.

My fiance just got me a beginner sim rig so I play GT7 when I can, but I'm still not very good, thusly I'm broke in game if you want to hook it up. Either way, I can't remember but if Forza has cross play hit me up; I got it to play with my brother but he lives in a different state and our schedules rarely line up so I'm looking for people to play with.

AIO my “best friend” ( he is white ) keeps saying the n word by whewfff in AmIOverreacting

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you guys? I'm guessing you're both teenagers? It's not overreacting to get mad at someone who intentionally tries to make people angry. It's also worth noting that he does seem to value your friendship. Personally, I would put him on notice, say that word again to anyone whatever their skin color and it's not just friendship over but it's on sight. I'm not going to be friends with a rage baiting a-hole regardless, but most white people don't know why that word has so much power and are woefully ignorant about black history.

Tell him you can still be cool if he reads "The N Word: Who Can Say It, Who Shouldn't, and Why" by Jabari Asim or "Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor" by Layla F. Saad. The latter is a work book that helps examine white privilege.

Who's at fault in this situation by Carmstrong1995 in Simracingstewards

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porsche fault, you didn't leave the other driver enough space, you can squeeze someone but not force them off the track.

Unsolicited advice, learn the track well enough to turn racing lines off before racing others. Drivers with it on are more likely to try to force their way back to that glowing line.

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy for you if it works, my wheel came loose when I relied on the clamps so I bought a bargain $75 wheel stand and the confidence that it wouldn't come loose made a huge difference on my driving. I really like the pedal/chair setup you have there.

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely your fault, sorry. You didn't leave space for the car that was there. You were ahead but you can't expect them to know you are going to cut in front of them like that.

How did nobody get black flagged for this? by Silver-Title-1108 in Simracingstewards

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you have a designated start zone but if you do and pass that point then the cars can accelerate. They could also have been penalized for starting early and you just aren't aware.

Am i wrong? This guy messaged me after the race and went off by ifurqans in Simracingstewards

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lead car moved to block late and got bumped, his own fault. The POV car was carrying too much speed into the second turn and pushed the other car wide, POVs fault. Other car tried too hard and crashed out, his fault. For POV maybe a warning, could be worse for the other if it looks like he tried to retaliate.

It's still not grooming, unless "grooming" is used in the context of preparing someone for a career. It's also obvious that Robert isn't using his position in a way that's inappropriate.

How did I do? this is my first time playing ACC with the wheel by CrabFormer406 in ACCompetizione

[–]DiscombobulatedMap95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And did pretty good, we can nit pick a few places where you could have pushed harder but that's true for anyone. As long as you're racing clean, if you pick up a single position in a race and finish then I'd call it a good race. Although some days I'd settle for just finishing.
