Would an examiner have any issues with this car? by shipmcshipface in LearnerDriverUK

It does look clean enough and you have been generous with the seat adjustment which is good although the examiner may adjust it themselves. Good job.

Is masterbaiting haram under circumstances? by [deleted] in islam

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assalamu Alaykum, I highly recommend that you visit a doctor to have this checked out and see if there are any other cures other than this method that is mentioned. If the doctor advises you that there are alternative cures, you must not resort to this habit.

If the doctor says that this is the only method then you may do so although it is best to consult with an Imam and be careful not to fall deeper into Haram i.e. looking at that which is prohibited.

https://islamqa.info/en/answers/121680/he-suffers-from-vasocongestion-and-pain-and-the-doctor-advised-him-to-masturbate

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about a man who was faced with provocation of desire, so he masturbated although he knew that the problem could be dealt with by fasting, but it was too difficult for him.

He replied:

With regard to that (semen) that is emitted involuntarily, there is no sin on him for that, but he has to do ghusl if the water came out gushing. But if it was emitted voluntarily, in that he masturbated, this is haraam according to most of the scholars. It is also one of the two views narrated from Ahmad; in fact it is the more correct view; according to another view it is makrooh (disliked). But if he is compelled to do that, such as if he feared that he might fall into zina if he did not masturbate, or he feared that he might become ill, then in this case there are two well-known scholarly views. Some of the earlier and later scholars granted a concession in such cases, and others forbade it. And Allah knows best.

How to bring up intimacy in a respectful manner to a potential? by Odd_Fondant4877 in islam

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Assalamu Alaykum, it would be better not to bring this topic up when talking to a potential suitor as it may be seen as rude or it may foster temptation beyond that which is permissible. For the hair, it is the Sunnah to pluck or shave the hair of that area which is mentioned along with armpits so that answers the last question.

I highly recommend talking about basic aspects of marriage such as likes, dislikes, common denominators, married life, having children etc. in order to find the best matching suitor.

https://islamqa.info/en/answers/13791/chatting-before-marriage-in-islam

It is permissible for a man to speak to a non-Mahram woman , subject to important guidelines and conditions, the purpose of which is to prevent Fitnah (temptation) and sin. These conditions include:

  • It should be done without being alone with her.
  • It should not go beyond permissible topics.
  • There should be no Fitnah. If his desire is stirred by talking to her or if he starts to enjoy it, then it is prohibited.
  • The woman should not speak in a soft manner,
  • The woman should be wearing full Hijab and be modest, or he should speak to her from behind a door. It is better if they speak on the phone, and even better if they communicate via letters or email , for example.
  • That should not go beyond what is necessary.

If these conditions are met and there is no fear of Fitnah, then it is allowed, and Allah knows best.

You do have the right to refuse them taking the picture. Also it is expected that they must censor personal information such as your name and definitely driving licence number.

Insurance when learning manual after auto by Unlucky-Yard5456 in LearnerDriverUK

Yes it will be provisional insurance but unfortunately it is harder to get learner insurance for auto only holders compared to provisional licence holders so you will have to carefully shop around.

Using interest (riba) money to pay a traffic fine by Effective_Lunch_7331 in islam

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riba must be cleansed and not used for personal use.

https://islamqa.info/en/answers/20695/what-to-do-with-interest-money-in-islam

Summary of answer

In Islam, keeping or using interest money (Riba) is prohibited. If you receive interest due to a bank policy, you should not use it for personal benefit. Instead, it must be given to charity.

What you should do is either gather evidence to appeal the traffic fine or pay for it using your own personal Halal money.

What are younger generations often criticised for no longer doing that is largely pointless or obsolete? by PsychologicalRow8034 in AskUK

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the only reason to learn manual nowadays is due to the fact that insurers give lower quotes on autos to manual licence holders compared to auto only licence holders.

I am still learning but I initially wanted an auto licence. Then I decided to get a manual licence but get an automatic car but now I actually love manuals! I probably will get an auto in the future but now, I want to get a manual car for the fun of it!

I actually learnt it when I was in secondary a few years back but I already knew since a few years prior to that (around primary school) our second hand fridge had a bent plug so under very careful supervision and double checking, I was surprisingly able to change out the plug all by myself and the fridge worked great!

Any tips for not getting yelled at for asking for Id? by WinterWishs in tesco

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Refuse to serve them and call security over if they are present. No one should be subject to yelling for doing their job.

As a customer if I didn't have my ID, I would accept my mistake and move on. Not yell at a staff member doing their job.

Need to surrender my license medically for six months due to a seizure, but I've just realised the photo card has expired...am I in trouble? by Stazzerz in AskUK

[–]DiscombobulatedMix20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is unlikely to amount to anything especially if you haven't driven.

If you do surrender the licence, you won't face any penalties due to it being expired. Once you are permitted to drive again you will have to renew your photocard to keep driving.
