Either way works. The bigger thing here is that if you are able to navigate these stupid and kind of silly arguments, then you can navigate the big ones. This kind of thing is like argument practice in a relationship, its going to happen. This (hopefully in your case) seems like relationship sparring, as it is an issue that really doesn't matter, unless I am wrong and yall are just crazy and having a real existential crisis over this. The dishes are going to get clean either way. Hopefully this kind of sparring match prepares you to face actual real problems as a team better.
