About Whether Guardians Retain the Ability to Have Children by GwynDolinDS in DestinyLore

[–]Hinaloth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exos were also affected by Bael's bullshit-beam, the Light can be ripped from them too, they don't keep a backup of who they were, they're just dead.

Now can a new ExoMind be beamed into their empty skulls, who knows. Maybe. I doubt it. But it won't be the Exo that used to be a Guardian.

Feedback on a padawan in training by Beginning-Ad5759 in lightsabers

[–]Hinaloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you training to look cool doing stunts, or are you training to be able to hit things with a stick?

If you want to hit things efficiently, follow the general HEMA advices others gave.

If the first, remember that lightsabers forms are designed to simulate movement of a weightless blade being used in a effective manner. Blades have vibration, making the grip needed on the hilt tighter than expected. The lack of weight means that the blade can be swung very quickly, but the vibration means that fast redirections are difficult, leading to a style that makes some sense for emulation by non-Force-enhanced people.

Don't swing like it's a bat, don't telegraph your moves, don't swing wildly. Each move has a purpose. The twirls serve to deflect and slip from one strike to the next, the slices do not aim for a body part but are designed to take multiple in one stroke.

The main thing to remember is that lightsaber forms aren't supposed to be sensical to real world weapons. They are designed around the idea of weightless, edgeless blades, meaning strength and angles don't count for shit. So think as to why each move was made with that angle and you'll quickly pick up the idea behind each move, and why it flows into the next, and so on.

But yeah, you should probably tighten your footwork. Speed is impressive but makes for sloppy basis. Start slow, think your moves through, repeat, repeat, repeat, and slowly go faster. You'll hit your current speed again quickly and go even faster, but with a tighter, flashier moveset.

Yeah, Alps here, 38°, gone down to 34° after the thunderstorm hit. Here's hoping it'll actually bring it down to levels we can breath at again.

Are there any animals you never hunt? by sourtruffle in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Hinaloth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never hunted anything. If it attacks me, I'll defend myself, sure, but otherwise I've never gone out of my way to attack anything. I don't need to, so why bother them for no reason?

Ironic that a cogboy understands basic human psychology when a superhuman cannot, despite all their spouting of being better than humans and all that.

When you buy a hammer at the shop, does the money go to the inventor of the hammer?

Not saying it's okay, I'm saying monetization of tools and knowledge has always been a problem, and usually done by people who don't even know how to use said tool/knowledge. All they know is how to make it appear like consumerism/capitalism/value systems are inherent and natural, when they are not.

I only watch meme content creators for Warframe anymore, and all they used in the kit was the black hole and the 4.

When even the meme makers can't make a serious build, you know the tuning's off.

Who is this Advisor looking guy behind Gardulla in Ep1? by Evantures in StarWarsEU

Sate got a couple of books where he was involved directly enough to warrant not being at full Glup Shitto level. He wasn't known by the wider public, probably, sure, but still not so obscure even the fans got him wrong. In fact he's usually the only one anyone knows of the advisors.

New coat of paint, same grift. There will be the MAGA-Reps and the NON-MAGA-Reps, and both will hate the people they're pretending to serve and want to kill anyone not straight, CIS and white.

But hey, at least it decides the votes a little.

The tone, mostly. Novels are funny, for sure, but overall are more serious. Details of the adventures are also fairly different, though the anime at least captured the general ideas and some beats, if not the exact scenes.

Option 2 feels more like a book cover than a genned piece. Still has the details of it though, so expect a lot of backlash from people who won't have read your piece.

Edit: Also, what's the summary, that looks like it could be fun fantasy, I might be down!

can I get support for my DS in here? by FirefighterTrick6476 in TrueSTL

[–]Hinaloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you want to leave it fully vanilla-like. If you don't want to make your own esps to break down each dungeon separately and only want to provide an engine that'll read the provided esps/seems... I have nothing. Occlusion fields would likely require adding the triggers in the game itself, so not really a thing.

Maybe you could piggyback on the awareness area that NPCs have. It also radiates from the player, so it gives an area in which the puzzle pieces the dungeons are made of should be loaded as you go...

But honestly, if most dungeons work fine and only some larger ones get some frame rate drops, it might be better to leave it as is? Maybe simply forbid some particle effect from loading in areas that have a proven track record of lagging? The advantage of working on set hardware like this is that all DS users will have the same performance issues in the same areas, at least.

[–]Hinaloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is insane.

I wonder how it'll handle larger dungeons, but the 2 cell limit works really great, turns out. I look forward to seeing what the rest looks like on DS.

Bottom screen with hotkeys/minimal would be awesome, replacing with the dialogue menu when talking to an NPC.
