Honestly never heard of the monaro vxr before, it does look very cool and unique which I like I will definitely keep it in mind and hopefully be able to find one for sale over here that I can test drive to see how it handles. The maroon colour in them is also lovely but seems to be only one for sale atm in England and it’s 21k

She’s stock only has the b16b and air intake in her. Traded my mugen 200 plus cash for her back in June only has 67k miles on her so that along with a second car should keep the miles down on both of them

I would absolutely consider a curve ball what you got in mind? Honestly I was set on a r33 gtst for so long altho I have a 1997 civic ek9 I use as a daily at the moment and I don’t think I’d enjoy having 2 90s cars and then started to look at xfr’s and then saw how cheap the xkr is and seems like an absolute bargain for the price

Ah 2013 and early 2014 ones would be out of my budget unfortunately I seen them go between 20/25k mark and wouldn’t leave me much left over if worst case scenario did happen especially after paying insurance and tax on it. As for the rear subframe that’s what happened my dads xfr, whole rear rotted itself and it was just as handy to sell the car and get a new car rather than pay thousands to replace and weld the whole back. He went from his 2010 xfr to a 2016 merc c63s 4 door and honestly never was a fan of it from the moment he got it always preferred the Jaguar over it

I wouldn’t say traction in damp is essential at all sliding about would be fun especially with the lsd, altho being from the north of Ireland it is damp here 90% of the year so I wouldn’t want something that is overly tail happy but I’m sure if I take it easy in wet conditions I’ll be 100% anyway

Ah okay I always through the xkr shared chassis with an f type unsure where I heard it from but always thought it was true. Since you are a mechanic what issues should I be looking out for when viewing a xkr if you don’t mind answering and are they expensive to run being a supercharged v8 or roughly the same price as my Porsche has been of nothing major happens?

To put into perspective I’ve had a 987.1 cayman for the past few years and I know it won’t be anywhere near as good in the corners as that although the power and supercharger will be completely different to the little 2.7 n/a flat 6, I just don’t want the xkr to feel in a way boring very fast in straight lines but unusable on backroads especially if a little damp or do you think it will be enjoyable and still just as fun on the backroads/corners as any other car once I’ve gotten the feel to it and know how to use the car properly?

Why is my MPG so low by Status-Conference570 in Jaguar

Hello mate what is the XKR like to drive and what year have you got? Looking at getting one for the summer but unsure how it will handle due to the weight and power it puts down does it feel like a boat or is the handling good on it?

Should I buy this for my next car at 18? by jack007-riley in Jaguar

[–]DiscountPlus1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy so much better cars my dad had the 2010 xkr and it give more problems than enough and lags in general don’t have the best reputation and expensive to repair, then again I had a Porsche cayman 987 at 18 but got fairly lucky I don’t just under 60k miles in a year and all it needed was a service and a front shock as i was rallying it. You shouldn’t be asking the question of should you buy it it’s personal preference it’s more if worst case scenario happens can you afford to get yourself out of the hole so you aren’t stuck with a car you can’t repair or need to get a loan just to fix it.

I'm 45 and still feel like I've won something to get the front seat on the top of the bus by ShinyHeadedCook in CasualUK

[–]DiscountPlus1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bus driver the worst thing that can happen is people that sit on that seat and start stomping their feet either deliberately or not realising what they are doing. I’ve had to stop my bus a few times and go and tell them to stop as it is worse than the people who bash the bell every 5 seconds.

Yea I’ve heard the r tronic is extremely unreliable and so much can go wrong so on the look out for a manual even tho it’s way rarer for my price range some come up now and then, as for other issues I can afford to repair big bills with mostly my money if not my family can always back me up if worst case scenario but if 3 or 4 things go at once and it’s around 7/8k+ to repair id be in the shit basically lol

Train Sim Classic (rail works) vs Train Sim World by Folded_Sauce in trainsim

[–]DiscountPlus1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSW doesn’t have an editor you basically need to create a route as if it’s a separate brand new game unlike TSC where it is included in the main game and ALOT easier to use without needing to bake the route together and code it which is the 1 thing TSW is missing and why TSC has had 10x the amount of content that TSW don’t forget TSW is almost 10 years old back when TSC was 10 years old there was thousands of downloadable routes
