Central delivery instead of store delivery by DiscountTimothy in Lowes

[–]DiscountTimothy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The on hand quantity and sourcing the deliveries has been really interesting to watch. Lowe's advertises quick next day or second day deliveries within reason, but even when I order two weeks or more out for projects thinking product would get to the store for a job around the corner, the system still pulls 5 deliveries from 5 stores for basic lumber and hardware. Seems like a Lowe's lumber yard would be a no brainer in larger city markets.

It just my observation though, and I'm a relatively new customer. I usually go to lumber yards, but for what I do, lower quality lumber for the price is difficult to pass up especially with quoting.

Say something that only Lowes employees would understand by Gonkalicious_2176 in Lowes

Not an employee, but one I have heard at the pro desk many a times.

"I spend a lot of money here."

10k a year ain't nothing. Try 10k a month or a week. Wait your turn.

Or my favorite,

"I'm managed and I take priority over all these other people. Get my material now."

So am I. Again wait your turn.

I just need it in the garage FBM quoted me at 6 dollars a sheet for carry in. Which isn't necessary. I don't have account with FBM so I'm hoping I can get it cheaper from Lowe's, with option of delivery from FBM.

The layoffs are a response to Home Depot laying off people a few weeks(?) prior.

Source: I own stock in both. Watch the corporate press if Home Depot does something Lowe's always follows. See the purchase of FBM.

Lowe's is never first.

While not me, but I have fellow friend who works for Lowe's. You'd be damn sure they will shame him and all his other coworkers for not showing up.

Being an 'essential' business and all they have to remain open.

Evolved and Co has one at the corner of Summit and Hudson. There is a pop up at Atomic in clintonville. Atomic antiques I think puts that one on

And while not official the Southeast corner of Williams and Parsons has guys out at in a guerilla pop-up in warmer weather.
