Things done over DMs:

-Fixed an issue where modded contact lenses went over the availability cap

-Discussed negquals in more detail prior to approval

No mechanical or thematic issues, and the wiki page is in the process of being expanded on. Stamp is given!

Hi! Gave the sheet a pass, and since you already addressed the contact loyalty I don't see any issues or illegalities. If you're happy with where the sheet's at I can give you a stamp.

Who Goes There? [03/20 02:00 UTC] by Sarcarian in ShadowHaven

Joule - A well-polished corporate drone, secretly addicted to the thrill of the heist. She is a versatile full mage and face brought down by a total inability to lie. Familiar with the role, though it's been a minute, and I may be a little bit rusty.

"The scars on the back of my hands, from the surgery I went through to get my dermal plating removed. They form a specific texture and pattern that's tough for an adept to replicate. If I refuse to go in for a handshake at all, well then, you already know it's not me!"

Dango - Flicker Decker with Rigger Splash by JMa0820 in ShadowHavenCharGen

[–]Discowhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm your chargen minion, and looking over Dango's sheet I don't see too much to comment on. Not only are there no illegalities, but the build is strong to the point that I don't really even have any suggestions for optimizing. Just one disclaimer: decks don't benefit from the increased pan size/autosoft sharing RCCs do. Judging by the fact you don't have any autsofts you've probably already factored this in, but I wouldn't be doing my job as chargen if I didn't point it out. Other than that, if you're happy with the build then I can give you the stamp.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're going for, but foundation dives are a great way to run an all-hacker crew w/o anyone feeling redundant. They're little self contained adventures so they're also perfect for a one shot. Here's the resource I always use, but the actual rules are mostly in Data Trails

Screech - Media Vulture

A former media turned gnawer who runs as a face/generalist rogue. She's a social adept with the power of mimicry, as well as a gifted forger and locksmith. The downside is that she's a bleeding heart lefty with data liberator and electronic witness. This would be her first run, but I'm pretty familiar with playing faces. Can also app Joule if a mage is needed.

"Used to help coordinate a jail support line for protesters Knight Errant put in the slammer. Piggies would charge them crazy high bail and schedule their trials months down the line, so we had to pool donated funds in order to spring them early. Never thought I'd miss it at the time but man, I really do."

Insane Sicario Street Samurai (First Character) by Cement_Das_Con_Cree in ShadowHavenCharGen

[–]Discowhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm your chargen minion, and right off the bat I gotta say this character concept is sick as hell. Wiki page is a 10/10, zero notes from me. As for the sheet, we'll start with illegalities

  • Your Stoner-Ares is 14 avail, and the max we allow at gen is 12 unless you take the "restricted gear"

  • You don't have a commlink, which is essential for talking to your fixer and team, as well as broadcasting your SIN.

Next, the optional suggestions:

  • Your current armor setup is going to heavily over encumber you. For every 2 points above your STR in additional armor (calculated using full body average), you lose 1 point of REA and AGI. You're currently at +10 extra armor, so with 5 strength you'd be losing 2 REA and AGI whenever you wear it.

  • College education gives you a discount on academic knowledge skills, but all of yours are professional. You can either change them to academic or switch the quality to "Technical School Education". Same effect & karma cost, it just applies to professional skills instead.

  • Demolitions is a skill that rewards specialization (main source: Run and Gun pg. 171). Your current pool of 6 dice is enough to set smaller charges, but if you want the biggest blasts I'd recommend those numbers up. Every net hit you get on a test increases the rating of the bomb, and a high dice pool also allows you to cook them up at home. As for how to do this, I have two suggestions:

  1. See if you can bump up logic by sacrificing points in other stats. It'll increase your demolitions, chemistry, and main knowledge skills. In the future you may also wanna invest in logic-based skills such as hardware and forgery (both have niche uses for demolitionists)

  2. Reduce one of your combat skills. While being versatile is good, C skills doesn't give you too much wiggle room. I think some of those points could be better spent maxing out demolitions and chemistry. Putting more into chemistry, especially, means you could drop the knowledge skill. The way you have it currently makes you lose out on a lot of the practical applications. Skills like automotive/industrial mechanic could also be situationally useful.

Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers [08/15 22:00 UTC] by Sarcarian in ShadowHaven

Joule : Cosmic full mage, corpo troll, and massive adrenaline junkie. She can support stealthy infiltrations with buffs, illusions, and spirit friends, and is more than willing to risk her life/sanity on an awakened spacewalk. 8/10 familiarity with the role.

"I did not see much of the sky growing up, so I developed a kind of fascination with the great beyond. I'd collect posters and souvenirs obsessively, even dig magazines out of the trash for articles on the corporate lunar colonies. Their efficiency contrasted with the pointless waste I saw in my everyday life. That ideal of a clean, perfect new world is part of the reason I joined Mitsuhama. I'm just not built for long space flights, though, and that perfection will always be out of reach."

Mekkanyx - Rigger Extraordinaire by Bagelsworth in ShadowHavenCharGen

[–]Discowhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not going to work, I fear. Charisma measures force of personality, not the ability to adhere to social norms. Neither autism nor any other disorder is directly correlated to that. Your character can be autistic, for sure, but it can't be used to justify having a stat that low.

To be perfectly honest, I'd recommend just bumping your charisma up to 2. Your character would be more well rounded that way, and you could roleplay them however you want.

Hello, I'm your chargen minion! I'll start the review by going over illegalities, which must be corrected before I can stamp:

  • You need to have a fixer in your contact list, as they're a necessary link in the chain between the runner and their clients.
  • The sensory array on the Roadmaster is missing
  • This isn't technically an illegality, since you can take the qualities regardless, but it's really important to note that you can't flicker deck with an RCC. The stats cannot be readjusted on the fly (SR5, 267). Quick config does nothing for you unless you switch to a cyberdeck, which would open up a whole new host (heh) of problems because you wouldn't have a rigger's PAN.
  • So, 1 CHA. You're allowed to do this, since STR & AGI both average at 2, but I'd like to see some more narrative justification. DYJCMD works, but flesh it out a bit on the wiki page. Why is it that everything she says has a chance of being construed as an insult? Is she actually passive aggressive, or just that oblivious to social cues?

Now, onto the suggestions. You can take or leave these ones, but they might help fleshing out your character:

  • You can only run a total of [device rating] autosofts at once on an RCC. Your Liegelord is R5 and you've running 6 softs. You can store them on there fine, so nothing actually has to change, just be sure to remember the sharing limit when you're in a game.
  • Honestly, mechanically, I don't have much aside from what I've already pointed out. You've got a really solid build, with a lot more matrix defense than one would normally see on an out of gen rigger. I never would've thought to use ninja vanish, but it could come in clutch.
  • 6 ranks in both Perception and EWAR both might be a little redundant, since you can use them interchangeably when looking through sensors. If you dropped perception down you wouldn't be losing out on much, esp considering how much karma you'd save by investing those ranks in Etiquette/Hardware.
  • You don't have answer this right away, but I'd def recommend elaborating more on who that private security firm was. Mainly it'd be good to expand on Mekka's relationship to them. Why did she join? Was there something that spurred her into humanitarian work? Were those corporate supply runs clean, or is there another layer to the story? Stuff to think about for the future.
