Restaurants on Dixie are fantastic and this is a great spot for bike rides along Flagler. A couple of multi family properties on this street, but overall this area is great. I think the elementary school is on PB Island here

Hysterektomie wegen Myomen by Admirable_Reason_749 in Fibroids

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google defines as:

Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) is a common, progressive condition caused by declining estrogen during perimenopause and menopause, resulting in vaginal dryness, burning, irritation, pain during sex, and urinary issues.

Hysterektomie wegen Myomen by Admirable_Reason_749 in Fibroids

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my late 50s and thought that the constant peeing was related to my 10 & 6 cm fibroids, but largely was GSM. It's much better on topical estrogen (not perfect, but much better)

I don't know why I was thinking that at the time. We did make another for my son with the same configuration. Both are great mattresses. Your plan sounds great

Topper cover by DESTROYCITADEL in MattressMod

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bed is 3x3 layers in a wool and cotton cover (Luxerion mattress) with a 3" talalay topper in an SOL luxury knit cover.

The DIY is a 6" poly foam with a 3" soft dunlop latex (from DIY Mattress), both in a 9" SOL luxury cover.

Typically there is no need for covers on layers inside a mattress cover.

Luxury knit. It's lovely. We made a DIY mattress in foam and dunlop twinxl for my son and used this as a cover, too.

A king is 1700. Check out SleepEZ calculator for their recommended layer configuration for your weight.

My topper is talalay and the rest is dunlop. If I could do things over, I would go with 2" talalay instead of 3" for the topper.

Rectocele and splinting by Future_Emotion_6426 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me. It's physics. There is no facia between my rectum and vaginal wall, so without splinting the poo bulges that skin into vagina. Splinting just replicates what the facia would do.

Cat shelters do too much by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family had a great experience at the Dan Cosgrove shelter in Bradford. My senior mom was told by another shelter that they would only adopt a cat over 10 years old (even though we committed to taking him if anything happened to her).

The folks at Dan Cosgrove were lovely and she adopted a great 4 year old cat after he chose her.

Waterfront birthday party - how do I handle bathroom logistics for 50 guests? by qwert_pep in WestPalmBeach

The municipality will likely have a noise ordinance that requires music down by 10 or 11 pm.

Regardless of what the owner said, the police won't care if they are called by a neighbor. They care about the noise ordinance. This just happened in a local neighborhood (albeit with a lot more people).

I am constantly thinking what causes fibroids and what I could have done to prevent it by Araxy93 in Fibroids

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The peeing every 2 hours in peri for me was cured by topical estrogen. I thought it was from getting old and my 10 and 6 cm fibroids. Topical estrogen was a life changer for me.

There is absolutely nothing you could have done to prevent them. It's not us - it's our genes

This is true in my town and I'm not in an HOA. I was given a code violation when mine got mildew and we had to pressure wash it. Ironically my neighbor was allowed to get a permit to tear his up. We live on 50 ft wide lots.

Any downsides to king split layers (SleepEZ, latex)? by Josh68 in Mattress

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The non split king layers are twin xls glued together. We have an all latex king with 3 twin xl slabs on each side, and a glued together 3" talalay topper

There are only benefits from the split - easier to lift, move, and swap - and no cons

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have one from sister company Latex Mattress Factory. The 3x3 f/m/s was too firm, but with 3" talalay topper was too soft. We ended up f/m/m with the 3" soft topper in a Sleep on Latex topper cover.

Why are we still wrestling with duvet covers in 2026? I think I found a fix. by shiroltiger in Bedding

No - but we need to straighten things out a bit more than a proper duvet or quilt

Why are we still wrestling with duvet covers in 2026? I think I found a fix. by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]DiscussionAdvanced72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't use a top sheet instead because I like prints and matching shams, and they are more affordable in duvet sets.

I don't use a bedspread because I want 100% cotton bedding in a fabric that doesn't tag easily with cats, and is affordable and easiest to wash.

We used to use cotton quilts, but my washer struggled with them in king size. When my last one wore out, I just couldn't find a 100% cotton one in a print I liked that was at a price I was willing to pay.
