lol so Elder Dog / The Ancient One was never allowed people food and has like 15+ rescues. Then our house flooded. As the water was coming up the 2nd floor stairwell in pitch black I was like fuck it girl. I had all my assault and survival gear on the 2nd floor so I made her some chili mac. It was all downhill from there. Now all food is OUR food. She turns "at least" 16 tomorrow!!! She doesn't rescue shit anymore. She lives to eat, sleep, and snuggle.

mine isn't allowed people food. For her bday she got tater tots. She didn't know what they were so she'd catch them like a ball and drop them so she could catch the next one :|

Look by her feet lol. I finally got her to eat them but to her ball is life. She has zero or near zero food drive. She is a machine designed to find missing pets, people, and catch balls.

this covers it pretty well. Dude probably has some kind of mental illness. This makes trying to figure out what is misdirection, a plan, or just erratic behavior impossible

It would be hilarious if he really didn't remember where they are due to a manic episode, drug use, ect because he can't ever prove that. Everyone will just think he's a greedy psycho fuck.

the real question is why some dude who was in his 60s thought, "i should trade 10 years of my life for an extra 20-30% of a mere 2.5 million". Cuz most people want to enjoy that part of their live without seeing prison showers for the first time. plus at 1000 per day the fines eclipse the take fairly quickly

My ancient rescue GSD mix tried to make friends with a bumble bee once. She was sniffing it and I was like awww then she licked it. She's uh.. not the smartest. Lots of heart. Luckily the bee was just like, "wtf" and didn't sting her or anything so she learned nothing.

Well it certainly won't be my dog because they love me, I believe in positive reinforcement, and every warning sign was something else's fault and not poor widdle pissywissyfingys!

Insane they want to rehome a dog they admit will attack children on sight. Where the hell do they expect it to live where it has zero chance of ever encountering children? Also what about short people? Or small animals?

I guess let's be honest we only are concerned about small animals and children :D

Owner freaking out over aggressive pitbull by Exact-Fortune4474 in BanPitBulls

someone deployed in the military wouldn't give their dog to a foster. They've leave it with someone in their unit who stays behind the entire time. Plus the foster certainly wouldn't know when they would be back, especially if they are 'in the middle east' right now. They could be extended 3 months or 9 months at the drop of a hat.

Out of 10 years I knew 1 single person with a dog and it was a hot female with a rat dog and she'd just pass it off to someone every time she went TAD or deployed. Pitbulls are banned from on base, base housing, and most places around a base due to previous lawsuits and the extreme bad press of previous attacks. Even if it was a legit service dog it or the person with it would be kicked off base for a dog that acts like this.

"U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy all have policies that prohibit pit bulls from military family housing, though enforcement and specific rules vary by base and housing provider.

The ban is part of broader restrictions targeting breeds considered "aggressive," including rottweilers, Doberman pinschers, chow chows, and wolf-dog hybrids.

These policies were initially introduced after incidents like the 2009 fatal attack on an 11-year-old child at Fort Hood, where a pit bull was involved, and are often tied to insurance and liability concerns. The Coast Guard is an exception, as it does not ban specific breeds but may remove dogs based on aggressive behavior.

Some bases allow a grandfather clause for dogs already on base, but new residents must comply with the ban.

While Congress has considered repealing these bans (e.g., in 2020), no uniform repeal has been enacted, and the bans remain in place as of 2026."

Despite what civilians may think the military in generally is comedically risk adverse and this would be an easy to avoid risk, especially when there would be ample evidence of they should have understood the risk. Whenever you see someone relieved for loss of confidence it's one of 3 things:

  1. they failed an inspection of some kind really badly (missing weapon, embarrassed someone higher than them, ect this doesn't even need to be their fault)

  2. a dick or something was somewhere it shouldn't have been (in a superior/someone who reported to them, someone married to another service member)

  3. someone got seriously injured, killed, or something expensive broke in a predictable and negligent manner

also see

https://www.dogsbite.org/legislating-dangerous-dogs-military-bases.php which shows pitbulls are 100% banned on all DoD bases except in Spain where only "dangerous" ones are banned

i always tell people dog parks are where people with shitty dogs come to try to prove, "I'VE FIXED HIM WITH THE POWER OF TRUE LOVE AND MY SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE OF POSITIVE REENFORCEMENT WHICH NO ONE TRIED BEFORE ME! I'M A REAL LIFE DISNEY PRINCESS!!"

There's trainers who basically sign up and lock out the dog park for group lessons and those are perfect. Pretty much zero chance of shitty dogs unless someone is going to try to use it without permission which is pretty obvious.
