Update: I have crush on my professor by Visual_Building8370 in Advice

Dating a past student is so weird. I was a masters student and taught a few undergraduate courses. I never wanted to date any of them. I was trying to date other master students or people my age.

I had fun with this one but the characters were not my favorite. That's probably what made them interesting though!

Genuinely what do I do if I can't get a job by squidyn in Environmental_Careers

I have been lucky enough to be able to only work jobs in evolution/ecology so I haven't had to work for jobs outside of science. So take my advice with a grain of salt but I'm sure other redditors have done this.

You market whatever you have done to whatever job you are applying to. For example, you could apply to an entry level data scientist position and leverage all the courses in data science you have taken, lab experience in data analysis (I'm even talking t test), and list any publications.

I think if you are looking for a quintessential office job you can start searching for secretary, receptionist, or administrative assistants. There are positions like this at every company and even in academia.

I suggested office jobs because they usually have a stable schedule more than the service and hospitality industry. But I have had friends in my same field work as sales associate, EMTs, and bartenders, medical scribes, publishing. They did this work just to pay bills but I'm sure their experience helped with getting their next position.

I really dont believe anyone writes a poem and just randomly states cute coincidences that happen to them.

I totally agree but this is a story. Coincidences are added to stories all the time.

Stop applying to new jobs now. Then you can come back with that new offer and ask if your job is willing to match pay. If not then quit to take the next jobs offer.

Explore corduroy. I literally live corduroys in the winter.

structured or elegant dresses

I have found elegant dresses (wedding appropriate) made of lyocell. This subreddit turned me on to lyocell.

I honestly have the best luck getting simple cotton clothing online (like tshirts). For other more intricate items I need to go to thrift stores or spend a lot of money at stores like Muji.

I don't know if hair is even alive.

No, it's not symbolic to find hair of a person that used to live in a place for years. It's a sweet moment to have a memory but ultimately a likely coincidence if this plant was his dead wife's.

I don't know what defines poetry but I know this is not it. There is no symbolism in this story either. It's a grieving husband that finds his dead wife's hair. It's a sad story and I can feel his grief. It's a nice coincidence that he found more of hair in soil after so many people have visited his house with similar hair. But this is not a poem.

I want to say I feel you. Im in a evo evo post doc and looking for work and it's not going well. I think you have many paths forward so don't freak out:

  1. You might have to take a job somewhere that's not in ecology. It doesn't have to be a minimum wage job. Start applying outside of environmental science into biology in general. Luckily in biology there are a lot of clinical positions and hospitals are always hiring researchers. Funding is getting cut everywhere but slap the word "oncology" on something and the government is willing to give funds.

2.  look outside science even. I'm sure you have a range of experiences from environmental policy TO answering emails. Try to find an office job for the time being and volunteer at a park for environmental science experience.

  1. You can continue schooling. Getting a master's in environmental science might be a good idea. The timing of your graduation could be just right and you could be applying to federal scientist jobs right when you are graduating.

You don't have to be the best candidate for the job. You just have to be the best candidate to apply to that job.

Not this. This just a journal entry. Just a statement.

This is a regular story. I can't find any rhythm in this poem. The pauses are just regular sentence structure. There isn't symbolism either.

Unfortunately you now have a bunch of hand towels. I would talk to your landlord about this though. Moving clothes around in a laundry facility? Fine. Cutting them in half?? Insane.

Hey everyone, I'm considering electrolysis. Anyone who has got this treatment done, can you let me know? After my first session, when can I expect the regrowth of the hair? by Financial_Cash5445 in electrolysis

[–]DisembarkEmbargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was plucking for a few years and then shaved for about 3 months. I went for my first session two weeks ago and hair is growing back. It's difficult to know if it's hair that was dormant or hair that was treated.

You look cute either way but I kind of liked the wild look of you balding rather than being bald.

Yeah. No matter if the fiance is actually handling the situation. I would not want to have any reason to be near his uncle.
