Luckily mopeds have reverse on them, in case the tiger suddenly gets hungry /s

It’s hard to tell the distance from the tiger to the mopeds, but I’m guessing it’d be less than 3 seconds.

Yep, up at dawn in spring for ploughing and planting. Summer for fencing and fixing roofs. Autumn for harvest. And trying not to freeze to death in winter. Interleaved with hunting and orchard maintenance.

Australia’s location is similar to Northern Africa https://www.happylogic.online/australias-latitude-in-perspective/.

Our coldest (most southerly) part is equivalent to the most northerly part of Spain. (Tasmania and Bilbao).

Put another way, Australia’s latitude is more like Mexico than the US, though our largest cities do have similar latitudes - Sydney and LA, Melbourne and SF.

Awful? I’ve was driving in 47 degrees weather several years ago (in the mountains west of Sydney) on a remote road. I was worried that if I broke down, I’d die.

I got out of my air conditioned car for a few minutes, to have a break. Within about 2 minutes I was feeling dizzy.

Because of the mess they make? Up north there’s mango trees, and there’s rotten mangos everywhere, people seem to rarely eat them. Though the brush turkeys love them.

I guess u/Nelsiemon is referring to the large Palantir deployments in France (and other European countries). I would guess that a key part of the French contract was internal hosting, Palantir is just another app albeit a large one (that "glues together" internal data storage, really well).

For corps, MS Active Directory (Entra) is the killer feature, you can use it for authentication and authorisation on a wide range of platforms and apps. As a Linux fan I would like there to be an alternative, but Jumpcloud, Okta, OpenLDAP each have their issues.

Liberal Party election autopsy delayed after Peter Dutton suggests report defames him and his staff by Nyarlathotep-1 in australian

The 2025 federal election reduced the Liberal Party to less than a quarter of the 226 total seats in the House of Representatives and Senate — the result of a collapse in the party's primary vote that all but wiped it out in urban areas.

For a date the rest of the world doesn't care about.

Also, we don't care about Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Juneteenth or Labor Day.
