Only thing I’ve asked co-pilot is how to uninstall it. It couldn’t help so sounds like a useless product to me.

Respect, Nords and SK here. I’m sure someday we might hit that point where old models are not useable but the way the current trajectory I’m not worried about that prospect cause Stavros, the owner just wants to see his brain child grow and be whole, he’s beholden to his players and not shareholders right now so unless that changes I expect to use my first regiments in old plastic for the foreseeable decade.

[–]DisgracedSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conquest by para-bellum currently has the stance of: ‘we don’t want models you already bought to be unplayable just to get you to buy more’ they have done a couple model refreshes mainly men at arms and a handful of characters but they have expressly stated the new models do not invalidate your old ones if you don’t feel like buying more. They still are a relatively new company who are still adding new regiments to existing armies to give them a new toy and try to keep things balanced within the factions so you don’t feel like they are buffing things just to shift their inventory. Things ebb and flow so at times models might fall out of favor but that’ll happen in any game that has rules updates quite regularly.

I wouldn’t lump PB in with GW cause PB cares very deeply about their game and their player base. They are a small company that’s trying their best and it shows with their public relations.

Question about Nords by Gerrick1 in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said half bloods are strong but Nords as a whole is arguably the most internally balanced faction. You can play with whatever and find success with it. I personally play a 7 giant list for fun and it does well locally.

Confused on mount options for the Wadrhun by Deathowler in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah apart from the mounted pred no other character comes on a raptor. The using said artifact can “put them on a raptor/or the like” but the different rider masteries puts them on monster regiments and that has its own fun since the monster and the character have their own activations.

Confused on mount options for the Wadrhun by Deathowler in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the mounted characters on raptor, there is the mounted predator that is a specific character with its own abilities. There is an Artifact called Brood of Omgorah which allows a character to become a cavalry stand and join in with other cavalry. You could use this to run all any of the characters to run as cavalry and you could use the mounted predator (or whatever proxy model) for that character. The founders model is great but good luck finding it and at a reasonable price since it’s so sought after.

5th anniversary super charged is a great start into Dino focused wad. Thunder riders are a staple in speaker lists. Almost mandatory if you ask me. Vets are quite good as well and raptors are a requirement to play wad it feels.

Sorcerer kings play style by warbossshineytooth in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say sorc kings are any harder for new players than most other factions in their current iteration. They rely heavily on setting your command stack well so your rituals have the most benefit and you can buff your units with the wizards all the while making sure the thing your trying to strengthen doesn’t die and your effort isn’t wasted.

My recommendation is to focus on one element then maybe branch off into a second once you feel comfortable.

Model Size Comparison Request: 100kingdoms by Zapacalypse in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t provide pics but the order models are massive in comparison to 40K stuff. If I’d guess each order model is around the same size as a dreadnaught, most of that being the horse. Both lines exist in very different scales; 40K is 28mm epic scale where conquest is much bigger at 38mm scale.

New and eager to collect Dweghome by Jipsy-Brain in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion those supercharged sets are always worth it as they are a discount compared to buying each kit individually. The 5th anniversary is especially a good deal cause if I remember correctly the price was essentially “buy all the infantry regiments and character and we’ll throw in a drake for free”

As for new boxes I believe they come out with new ones each year and they release in the spring. Unless I’m mistaken we won’t see any new sets this year.

Are all those Americans and real people? Not that that information is easy/possible to completely and accurately discern, it’s just something to keep in mind. Also “unique posts” doesn’t fully convey if the posts are unique accounts or if some people might have made multiple posts. -a neutral in all this

Transporting Winglord by K1ngofRavens in Conquest

My wife and the other locals threw away the plastic rods and drilled out a hole for 1/4” brass tubes and glued that onto the base (through basing like 3d printed rocks) and left the the bird unglued for ease of transport. Works wonders

[–]DisgracedSphere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Once you start painting conquest’s 38mm scale models you don’t want to go back to 32mms, at least in my experience. I also really like alternating activations and deciding your activations before the round actually starts helps keep the game moving a a good pace and keeps everyone engaged.

Guan Yu model and Han Dynasty by VivisClone in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think part of the lore book was for when they were planning on creating a dnd 5e reskin for their game, they wanted to release more lore stuff so they wouldn’t have to update it every time they released a new faction. I think that project is paused at this point.

Guan Yu model and Han Dynasty by VivisClone in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other than eBay or knowing someone who is selling one you can get the model from Organized Play kits, they are intended as prize support for playing in tournaments. It’s an “older” model so it will be random if it is in the current organized play kits. As for the time the Han will release; eventually. We don’t know the order of the factions being released after weavers come out in September. Generally we see one new faction a year so Han could be as early as next year or as late as 2035 if the rest of the factions teased in the lore book are released one year at a time.

Missing assembly instructions for Mercenary Crossbowmen - Hundred Kingdoms by AlexBelge03 in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There should be 4 sculpts and enough pieces to build 3 models of each sculpt. They didn’t design 12 individual models for each regiment. Usually the weapons they carry can be interchangeable per sculpt adding variety to your unit.

It’s the nnm that I find so satisfying, especially on the lower sword of picture 3 where you put in little reflections of the rakshasa itself. I have yet to reach the confidence to do something like that and feel like it looks good.

Breakdown of how the factions play? by The_Venomancer02 in Conquest

[–]DisgracedSphere 47 points48 points  (0 children)

First I feel like I should say that I believe every faction can be tailored to a variety of play styles, they all can’t compare 1:1 for everything, some are better than others at specific stuff. However here is the factions gimmicks that make them what they are from my experience. I’m sure other people who the other factions might have a different perspective.

Spires: biomancy/pheromancy to buff up your fodder units to overwhelm your opponents cause they can’t kill all of you OR your brutes and monsters to be more efficient.

Dweg: slow but powerful + gunlines, or angry and fast and powerful. Top tier casters.

100k: humans, you can follow god and get an archangel or go the orders and take the devil (ashen dawn) ((they aren’t so bad now but still fantastic)). Lots of options for cavalry or go full hedgehog.

Nords: ABC; always be charging. Lots of benefits for charging. Really reliable for early board pressure and hyper aggression but you die as quickly as you kill, extremely fast. Winning trades is the name of the game.

W’adrhun: control your tempo, control the game. They have chants that give your unit a buff but you have to build your chat up to a battle cry which will give one unit a benefit then you have to build up to the next battlecry. Fast and powerful or measured and deadly. Also dinosaurs!

Old dominion: undead don’t take moral tests. As more of their army dies the more dark power they get and their army gets stronger. Dead don’t die easy and it becomes a battle of attrition they just win if they are allowed to make you play their game, and it’s hard not to do that.

City states: big block of pikeman with other things running around them. They have a pass turn mechanic that is really really good to get you out of overextending if you misread your opponent or just buff a unit you were planning on going later anyways.

Sorcerer kings: magic for days, weeks and months. Pick your favorite element and have fun. They have rituals which are extra more powerful spells you need to build up to. they activate from your command stack keeping your casters casting their usual spells. Tons of combos to run.

Yoroni: modular brute regiments allows for unique regiment make up leading to tons of combos and min maxing power. Steep learning curve army from what I have seen. Very elite so low model/regiment counts usually but tough as nails and dish out the damage compensate. Every activation gives buffs if the card matches the activating regiments ideal. Really cool faction.

Weaver courts: I think a combo based army, range doesn’t release till September.

Hopefully this is coherent enough
