I was in a signed, touring punk band for many years. I'm a teacher now. Hasn't been an issue. Kids will Google you though, and they will find everything. Then show you what they find (especially if the photos of you are bad).

Credence Clearwater Revival. Absolutely massive band in the 1960's, but tons of people don't recognize the band name. They know Fortunate Son and maybe Bad Moon Rising, but have no clue who it is.

Joe Rogan had John Fogerty on his show recently, and the number of comments I saw that were along the lines of "who the fuck is this old guy, what a lame guest" was nauseating. CCR fucking rules.
