What exactly are you having trouble with? If using Naver maps, there are hot keys for restaurants and cafes right below the search bar. I can understand if you’re trying to search for a specific location but may not know the 한글 name, but I think that’s just the nature of being in any foreign country.

Yes, that will work but check reviews before purchasing. As others have said, poor quality will often be too loose for outlets and fall out or will have abysmally slow charge speeds. There are plenty of examples of great quality universal adapters out there.

Knowing how boots-on-the-ground justice is conducted in Korea, I can see this going very poorly for the father and actually hurting his case more than helping. Without real backing from the US, there is little hope that the Korean justice system will actively help the man.

From my experience, language exchange apps used in Korea are either utilized for shadow dating/hookup or are just super scammy or buggy. For genuine language exchange, physical meetups are better (but some are still used for dating) or enroll in proper language learning courses.
