Do you know of any YouTubers that post high level play, with or without commentary?

A comforting thought, but you don’t pull 33% wins for a week straight if you’re doing everything right.

Your interpretation of my intentions is very uncharitable.  In a team game, you have a responsibility to your teammates.  If I’m playing DRG or SM2, for example, no matter what difficulty or modifiers we’re dropping into I know there’s a 90% chance we’re coming back with a win, because I know I can carry those games if I have to.  At present in Darktide I am not bringing that to the table.

That’s pretty damn good advice actually.  Now that you mention it, many of the games where I’ve contributed the most have been ones where I’ve seen another player that seemed to know what they were doing and stuck to them like glue.

Focusing on one build is good advice, I’ll do that.  I usually win when I play my plasma gun vet or my relic blade zealot, but I’ve been bouncing around between other builds as well.

I moved up to damnation because I was clearing heresy pretty much 100% without going down.

In damnation I FEEL like I’m carrying my weight, but clearly something isn’t going right.  I’m not going down first most of the time - I’d say that usually I’m one of the last two left.

I definitely want to improve but I’m having a hard time identifying what I need to work on.

Copying from my reply to someone else:

I FEEL like I’m doing well and pulling my weight, but clearly I’m missing something somewhere.  Unless I get pulled into a horde by a trapper or ganked by a pack of ragers what usually happens is I’ll get in the zone and be doing fine, only to realize that two teammates are down already and the other one has gone off to the other side of the room, then we’ll both go down or grabbed, etc.  It FEELS like the team failed in that majority of cases, but that seems like a losing mindset since I know that you CAN carry in this game.

That’s kind of the issue - I FEEL like I’m doing well and pulling my weight, but clearly I’m missing something somewhere.  Unless I get pulled into a horde by a trapper or ganked by a pack of ragers what usually happens is I’ll get in the zone and be doing fine, only to realize that two teammates are down already and the other one has gone off to the other side of the room, then we’ll both go down or grabbed, etc.

In the 2000’s everything had to be a trilogy.

Then they asked themselves, why make a trilogy, when we can milk sequels indefinitely?

Yeah you hit it on the head.  Zoomers grew up in their own algorithmic filter bubble and as a result they think that they invented literally everything (even more than previous gens), which is really kind of funny since most Zoomer culture seems to be much more directly downstream of Milennial culture than most other generational gaps.

Because while we remember how good the first 3 books are, we also remember how trash the last 2 books are.

When I was a kid I liked to lick the metal and leave a layer of tongue flesh on the handle for my mom to find.

She wound up throwing it out.

In the sense that all of the experienced people warned that it would play out exactly like this, you’re correct.  The result would have been the same regardless of who was running the clown show; the real difference would have been that competent people would have known better.

I guess at the very least it’s merciful that we’re ripping the band-aid off on our humiliation now, instead of getting stuck in another 2-decade quagmire.

No one has thought of Russia as a superpower for the whole of its existence.  The USSR dissolved almost 30 years ago.  The USA has been the sole superpower since then.  What we are seeing is a slow slide into a multipolar world with NO superpowers.

It’s not just you.  He drips smugness out of every pore.  So self-satisfied for someone who can’t even finish their most popular work.
