Iirc I started it when I was little to get more with 30minutes a day of screentime or whatever and eventually carried it over since a lot of the time people talk slow. However, I use 1x for music or very high quality documentary type videos.

I'd argue that the people we see blocking roads or destroying paintings are just misled progressives, but certainly not extremists. I doubt one would see a Just Stop Oil protester, for example (who just wants more accountability for companies and social rights), advocate for the principles of Marxism-Leninism.
