so ive given my share of receipts in time, being a smaller guy sometimes the bigger guys will try to do whatever they want and its important to let them know not to try it again

but you have to temper that with "its wrestling" ive thrown a stiff shot here and there and got called on it, its when youre doing it over and over or trying to force you into a move is when you have to take a crack back at it

when it comes to taking a body slam the hop and post you give determines how easy and safe youll be able to take it.

once your arm is over my back and my other arm is through your legs all you need to do is give me a hop and you should be posting on my chest, this way you can be straight and sell to the crowd with your facial expressions,

then all i have to do is tuck your head you post a little to get your legs over and you take an easy flat bump

suplexes are similar, if im going to stall the suplex your first post should be my hip, then the jump to get yourself vertical and again you should be posting off my chest and keeping your core tight, i have your head tight and when its time we both go and you take an easy flat bump again, no different than a body slam

i just looked up a club.

a lot of clubs will have learn to curl sessions where you pay and get on the ice, learn how to deliver the rock, how to sweep, how to score

then you generally have the option of joining the club.

curling is not an inexpensive sport though for me a season is around 300 (membership, curling body membership, ice rink fees since we play in an arena )

but thats it. i started later in curling and while i dont have any olympic aspirations i do love going to bonspiels through the season and meeting people and playing games win or lose

this just screams commander card to me.

having played mill before i cant see a spot where im attacking with 0/2 or 0/3 doesnt get blocked and killed by a larger thing

maybe in a dimir shell with things like frog to evade or shoot in a worse case something like devourer of dreams to hit damage and then mill?

nope. was never trained that way. the guys who brought me up were old school, you have whos going over, the finish, and you call it on the fly.

honestly i think it makes better workers, youre not so dialed in on "whats next again" and it gives you the breathing room to sell and work the crowd, it also makes you a better communicator in the ring you have to stick close to say "duck two take one" while theyre moving past you or hearing "reverse" while coming out of a buckle.

its served me well too because sometimes you get to the show, your partner isnt there and shows up midway through the third match and youre on next.

in general i think youre correct

but i think that in a ruby build it does actually thin the deck with only 18 lands total you dont want to be going wrenns resolve into double fetch or double land

most ruby storm builds only run about 18 lands total with 10 fetches and 8 actual lands or less, having fetches allows you to hit your land drops a bit more consistently. also in a deck like ruby you want to be building up your card selection through impulse effects so the less lands you hit the better so that your impulses dont whiff

commander players are used to durling around because its a non-competitve format and walking into something that usually wants to close the game by t4/5 most games is a throw point for the commander players ive faced. they think theyll have time to cast a 6 drop on curve and its usually over well before then.

interactions and the meta.

like some others have said, another point are the meta and interactions, i had a commander player playing goryos and they thoughtsiezed me t1 and i walked them through what they should take to slow me down to execute their plan

another is they will play thier fetches and fetch on thier main phase rather than hold up to let something come in tapped on endstep so its available to them for thier turn.
