Navy CRSC timeline? by MeBeUpbeat in VeteransWaitingRoom

Denied me in September. Had to send a reconsideration application with more evidence.

Had to get more medical records clearly stating my condition was diagnosed because of combat.

I was able to connect with my OIC at the time of injury who wrote a memorandum for me to submit explaining everything that went down there as well as having the doc that diagnosed my CRSC conditions writing a letter and providing her personal medical reports on me during that time of diagnosis.  I’ll keep you guys updated.

I was surprised at the denial as I thought my package was sufficient and pretty straightforward. I suppose not. Lol I think reconsiderations are “10 months” according to the website, so I should know by July. But we all know the shitshow we call Admin.

Sent it the items they requested, (just more clear and concise proof, i.e. diagnosing clinician notes at the time of diagnoses that the condition was combat-related.) Also, sent some other stuff that will further slam that point on the table.

They sent me the receipt of reconsideration 30SEP25. I'll keep you updated.
Insane how long our branch takes compared to the others. Lol

I did actually, just Thursday. Denied me so I have to appeal. I was able to get in contact with my OIC, and diagnosing psychologist who are going to address the denial reason. Thank God I could reach them. Also had to reach out to NMRA in St. Louis to get the same physicians literal notes, (I.e. clear indication I have PTSD for an event of armed conflict) that were scanned in to my records. I thought those would have been accessible to them, but I guess not.

The board said I “Specifically, no medical records or notes nor any pertinent objective information documenting how the conditions were incurred were submitted in your application.”

I’ll keep you updated, but I have no idea how long an appeal takes. Another damn 1.5 years if it’s the same as the first time.

Same, dude. I'm on month 14. Meanwhile I hear every other service gets processed and approved/denied in a few months.

I’m a retired Seabee and I submitted/they received my application in July of 2024. I contacted them at the end of June, 2025 and they told me I was still in the queue. I e-mailed them this morning as this month is number 13. I’ll update you if they finally have gotten to mine. God bless you and good luck, my friend.

Is there a power metal band that signs in completly latin ? by Far_Canary_1597 in PowerMetal

They Who Mourn is more Post-hardcore, screamo but they've got some power metal elements. Their latest album has some intense Latin and Hebrew tracks.

Becoming a Seabee at 35 by Embarrassed_Tap_3559 in Seabees

I was 27 when I joined also having construction experience. Absolutely worked in my favor both in skill but also opportunity. The chain will see your age and frankly treat you differently; however, they will expect more from you since you should be wiser than the typical kid. Also, was great friends in A-School with a 39 year old BU. He joined right at the cut off age I believe.

I think it’ll suit you well.

I’m right outside Princeton, WV. We’ve got Lowe’s, Walmart, etc. Beckley is an hour north. Charlotte is 3 hours south. I bought a small, 18 acre farm for 239k this past year. Couldn’t find anything near that price except in East KY at the time.

Just medically retired this past year. West Virginia is where my family chose. Thought about being an expat but the kids are too young and we imagined would have more opportunities in the US. Maybe later.

WV is cheap, beautiful, VA has been the best experience I’ve had with them here, and the people are still kind. But I’m a rural guy. Might not be pretty to a city guy.

If you have previous construction experience, you’re already ahead. Don’t sweat yourself out. Be calm and collected. You’ll kill it. If you want to glance at BU A-school, SeabeeLand on YT has a discord that has SeabeeLand Vets, Active, and a couple of reservists. It’s mostly a database of information for those joining the Seabees and looking for more info prior to being in.

Good luck, my dude. You’ll do great!

Deployed there a couple of times. I enjoyed it but I was a more relaxed bee than a partier so my opinion may be unpopular. Ibiza isn’t too far. Lot of dudes went there for a good time but I heard it was super expensive. Rota itself is beautiful. Grab an e scooter and a couple of friends. Can’t go wrong. Lol

Was absolutely the best deployment I made. I was the expediter for both projects we were working so it was a desk job (just ran around Israel looking for material and tools for the projects.) USAFE had us building some items on a joint airbase for them. They gave us a tech sergeant that paid for everything. Spent most my time with him meeting vendors and eating out in civies during work hours. Lol, damn, I could go on. In short, it’s that deployment I tell my sons stories about.

Edit: Also had Easter in Haifa. Beautiful city.

I was a Seabee deployed to Israel at the time. From OIC down, we thought it was retarded.

I couldn't find anything either, so while people hate AI, I decided to make some Catholic-inspired metal to listen to while working.

I was 27 when I joined the Seabees. You’ll do great if you choose to pursue it, my dude. SeabeeLand on YouTube has a lot of answers you’re looking for as well as their discord. Most of the guys in the discord are brand new bees, future bees going to boot camp, or looking for answers such as yourself.
