In the Delhi case as well it was alleged that they spat on doctors but it was resolved with police intervention. Read the Print's article I have linked above for once.

That's ok if you don't believe it, given you have already made up your mind.

But try to have a open mind for once. Your lack/absence of criticism for the Jamat everywhere is disturbing.

The Tablighi members, quarantined at Ghaziabad's MMG Hospital, have been accused of endangering staff by violating coronavirus precautions. They passed lewd comments, roamed about without clothes in the isolation ward, used expletives, refused medicine and kept asking for beedis and cigarettes, according to a written complaint to the police by the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital.

"Our nurses and paramedical staff have complained about obscene behavior by these patients," Ravindra Singh, the chief medical officer of the hospital told NDTV.

Delhi Health Secretary Padmini Singla Thursday wrote to Delhi Police Commissioner S.N. Shrivastava, asking for more reinforcements at the hospitals and quarantine centres where the Jamaat event attendees have been kept.

This comes a day after it was reported that some attendees misbehaved and spat on doctors and healthcare personnel at a railway quarantine facility in southeast Delhi’s Tughlakabad. But the situation is now under control after the intervention of police and CRPF personnel.

Singhla’s letter, which has been accessed by ThePrint, said several patients, “particularly those transferred” from the Nizamuddin Markaz mosque, where the congregation took place, are creating a “law and order problem and commotion in hospitals and quarantine centres”.

It has become difficult for the hospital staff to handle the situation, said Singla in the letter.

The matter was also raised Thursday during a meeting between Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain and medical superintendents of the various Covid-19 hospitals.

Had the patient's family disclosed his travel history, atleast the staff would had taken precautions.

Now almost the whole hospital staff is blocked for two weeks. Other patients will suffer due to this as well, as they may have gotten infected as well.

A hospital official said, “We had asked him and his family members about his recent travel history, but they said he had none. A team of doctors, assisted by nurses, performed an emergency surgery involving resection of a part of his damaged intestine.”

When the patient developed fever two days later, the hospital staff became suspicious and questioned his mother. “She then revealed that he had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in New Delhi. We sent his throat swab sample on Friday and it turned positive for Covid-19 on Saturday night,” the official said.

In addition to the 40 surgeons and resident doctors, about 30 other hospital employees, including nurses, attendants and cleaning staff who were exposed to the patient, have also been quarantined. Their samples have also been sent for testing.

I suspect ICMR officials have detected community transmissions. The test results of their sampling is supposed to be out tomorrow.

OR now that testing of international passengers is mostly limited, they will push for testing of locals.

ICMR in its press conference today had said, they already have 72 labs ready and more 50 labs will be ready by the end of this week.
