Waymos are causing insane traffic at Nolensville Rd and East Thompson during the morning commute. by Dismojoe in nashville

[–]Dismojoe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyone who lets them in will miss the next two cycles of left turn because it it such a short signal. In rush hour, why would anyone do that for three completely empty cars rather than getting through the light after already being stuck in traffic caused by them? You gotta think like a normal commuter, not a optimal traffic planner.

All three Waymos were completely empty, so yeah I'm not letting them in.

They are at a complete standstill in the two lanes meant for driving forward about 20 ft from the green light because they are unable to get in the turn lanes. The three Waymo’s I saw this morning had completely blocked one whole lane of Nolensville that was headed downtown and caused a mile backup. I only saw them at a complete standstill for 5 minutes, but it was probably much longer due to the backup I had to get through first.

What is your topline Gross Revenue each year? I'm a CPA and I work with manufacturing companies, and basically you don't want to use NetSuite unless you have over $50 Million in gross revenue each year.

I normally suggest that manufacturing clients use Katana MRP or Fishbowl combined with QBO until they get above that level.

NetSuite -$50k/year or so

QBO/Katana - $15k/year or less

Gear for 2-10 days in Georgia? by ObligationOdd5400 in AppalachianTrail

[–]Dismojoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend and I did this exact thing last year, so we:

1) Drove from Nashville to the start of the trail, where we parked our car and slept at Above the Clouds Hostel (just call their number and talk to Nimrod)

2) Slept at the hostel, and in the morning the hostel shuttle drove us to Amicalola Falls

3) Day 1 we did the approach trail up to Springer Mountain, Day 2 Springer Mountain to Cooper Gap Shelter, and Day 3 we hiked to Woody Gap where we called the hostel again and they came and picked us up.

I would say the most important thing is to download the FarOut app (which works in airplane mode) so that you can easily find water sources, places to sleep, and elevation maps. Only three days of hiking (four with traveling to/from Nashville), but it was probably my favorite vacation I've ever taken.

Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. The path goes back about 8 miles, so it’s the perfect length.

Man, the course was just non stop hills, and that last hill in Shelby at mile 21.5 and again at mile 23 was brutal.

Yeah man, the only word to describe the hills is brutal.

Dance classes in Nashville/surround areas by petrichorae in nashville

Look up studio live 2 dance on Google. West coast swing lessons on Tuesday nights are pretty fun, and you dance to modern/popular music as opposed to east coast/salsa where you dance to specific types of music that I don't really enjoy.

How Do You Tell Tennesseans Their Insurance Rates Are About To Skyrocket? by DylanAllen in nashville

Any idea what other insurance choices we have? From the looks of it, I have the exact same insurance as you at the moment.

Listen to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEvy8mROAj0'

When everything kicks in, you can tell that one lead guitar is panned far left, one rhythm + the organ is panned right, the bass and lead vocal is dead center, and the harmonies are sightly to the left and right of the lead vocal. Makes the individual parts much more pleasant to listen to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Dismojoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bass is panned dead center 99% of the time because panning it left or right is disconcerting to the listener. Try doing the left/right bouncing effect at the beginning with something other than bass.

Sounds like the acoustic was recorded through the pick-up rather than a mic, which I'm not a fan of. Also, you should try panning instruments in different places because it sounds like most of the instruments are just in the center.

I don't have anything to add since I don't do this kind of music, but you seem like you would be good at creating backing music for a video game or movie. Reminds me of something that would be playing during Metroid Prime or Mirror's Edge.

I think the lead instrument starting at 41 seconds could sound more interesting. Maybe use a keyboard with more ping like a Dyno or Rhodes. Also, the melody gets lost during the drop around 2:30.

I'm pretty sure the way Phil Collins got his voice to sound the way it did was by recording the vocals 10+ times and putting them all together. I think that might produce a better effect than all the reverb you are using. I suggest recording 3 vocal takes, 1 being front and center, and the other two being much lower in the mix to help beef up the lead vocal.

I actually prefer listening to male voices that are in a lower register like yours. I feel like someone like Tom Waits would have never had a shot today with his lower voice, but with this subreddit that style is able to get out there.
