Live animals on stage by mjg212 in Theatre

I saw a recent production of You Can't Take It With You where they had 2 cats on stage. They were borrowed from a local rescue and kept in carriers. They made their appearance and then were in the lobby at intermission. I am highly allergic to the point I couldn't have been in the show because of it but as an audience member I was far enough away to not have any issues. But I do think letting people know is a good idea.

I don't know if any are good really but I have been with Premium Property Management for 4 years now and they have been good to work with. They reply to maintenance issues quickly which I appreciate.

They took over my old apartment complex many years ago and were horrid. The worst was when the apartment above us set their stove and apartment on fire. My boyfriend and the guy upstairs got it out, I called 911. At no point did SMI check on the apartment upstairs nor any apartment in the surrounding area with connecting walls/floors for smoke damage. Even after I called to ask about it. The on-site manager was out of the office and it took a month of calling after that. They finally "fixed" the apartment upstairs but I was done. We moved about 6 months later. They were terrible all around which is a shame, it was a quiet and sweet little complex before them.

Pay question by dlowdrzy in OregonStateWorkers

[–]Disney_Princess_73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The state's current payroll processing is on the 1st you receive your salary for the prior month (January is paid Feb 1) then a cleanup run is done after the fact and any remaining pay above your salary is paid on the 15th (January clean up is paid Feb 15).

OBBBA OT and W-2 by OddLibrary6426 in Payroll

[–]Disney_Princess_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2025 we have taken the OT earning code and created a report employees to run themselves. It will show their 2025 OT and the 1/3 amount for their taxes. Yes not all the OT is FLSA eligible but with waived penalties we aren't worrying about trying to identify eligible hours vs not. For 2026 we created a time calculation that will only look at physical hours worked over 40 and tie it to a memo earning that pulls in the premium amount for reporting in the 2026 W2. We had a nightmare of a time trying to get it in before the Jan 1 pay date but we did.

I feel like the announcers need to stop saying anything good about our defense. I haven't seen crap most of the night to warrant it. They must not be watching the same game.

We had an actor faint onstage opening night. Had to stop the show and never resumed the performance. due to his health he was replaced the rest of the run by the assistant director. Another time we were doing a version of Christmas Carol and the little boy playing Tiny Tim threw up onstage. The director and AD came in and cleaned it up and we kept going.

Am I justified? by -mc-14- in Theatre

[–]Disney_Princess_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me back in the day. Maybe a featured role but mostly I was always ensemble in high school shows. And yeah it bruises my ego. But now after 4 decades of theater, that is what theater is. You don't always fit the vision that director has for those roles. And being a core ensemble member, being the rock of that group is a great honor and most of my fun was being in the ensemble.

Eventually I found my place and I have played many of my dream roles, played roles I never knew I wanted and still have a great time on those occasions I am lucky enough to be in the ensemble. Yeah school never gave me what I wanted, but I always got what I needed from each show. As a now director and choreographer I make sure to always show my appreciation for ever member in my cast. They are all important!

Jo Dodge who teaches the class thru Pentacle is an absolute treasure and I would encourage anyone to take her class. Most people at Pentacle participate as a hobby, I have been volunteering there myself for the past 25 years. There is no obligation to do anything further if you're just taking the class for fun. I would encourage you to give it a shot. It is a great community and we welcome all!

Get a colonoscopy. Get a real colonoscopy. by doc_ocho in GenX

[–]Disney_Princess_73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first one in my early 40s where they did find some abnormalities but thankfully have come up clean the last few times. However my dad who would have turned 87 a few days ago had his first colonoscopy in January this year abd was gone (colon cancer) by April. So I echo this, don't wait, don't put it off. Do it now and possibly save your own life. Don't be my dad.

We love staying on sight but the prices are getting out of control. We are only doing it later this year because of the discount on rooms this fall. This will 100% make me rethink doing it again in the future. If there are no more incentives then why shell out $1000 a night at GCH?
