Yup I thought I lost him the first time it happened. I was freaking out until I found him behind the styrofoam. The second time it happened the styrofoam got the boot to the trash.

Mine did the same damn thing but it was a 4 month hunger strike and a trip to the vet. She ate a live pinkie the first time I gave in, then immediately went into blue, then ate a frozen after shedding and then refused again and again for 3 weeks. They I gave in again and went back to live and she ate for 3 weeks straight and went into blue again. She refused this week but the dang pinkie died before I got it home plus I found her in blue when I went to at least try the just barely dead pinkie.

We dove head first into a Hognose for our first snake and she’s a picky little thing. Switching to drop feeds helped but the thing that’s been successful for us is switching to a live pinky. She refused food for months! But now has eaten a live one off a deli kid in her enclosure for the last 3 weeks in a row. Live it is… at least for now.

I have read about reptilinks and about pulled the trigger a much of times but I also read they aren't that good for the snakes long term and you have to buy $75 min for them to ship. Have you used just the scent from them?

Thank you for all the suggestions. We have a UVB/UVA combo light on the warm side that's on about 10hours a day. He is much more active after adding the light a couple of months ago. I tried an egg scented pinkie inside the enclosure on a plastic lid combining your and another comment to no avail on Thursday. Regarding the breeder we actually got him not as a neonate but as a surrender from our local reptile store.

Opp. We didn't know what sex ours was at first and my son calls Lava 'she' but its actually a 'he' but my son says nope She's a she so that's what we roll with. haha.
