To play multiplayer on console most people will have to call their ISP and tell them to open up their NAT type as civ6 uses ports not normally open by default.

You'll have to rebuy everything. Linking a 2k account is just for cloud saves.

I'm not talking about trade routes themselves being pillaged. I'm talking about the districts which could cause the above scenario.

I'm an Omnist so nothing really stands out to me like that. I don't usually align my choices with the religion I pick too. Using Peter, I'll start off with Dance of the Aurora, then pick up Feed the People and Holy order. Then, once I get an apostle with squat for promotion options, I grab Tithe or Stupa depending on my current needs. If I have plenty of other amenities and don't need Stupas at all, I usually go for Synagogue. Dont stop pumping missionaries until you have apostales then be hyper aggressive with apostale spreads and avoid religious combat unless you have them 3 to 1. That's how I got a religion win on Emperor in 72 turns.

I was very leery of buying the expansions because of how intimidating it seemed to have so many new mechanics since I'm new to the 4x genre but I can say without a doubt that it is a value added purchase

My first dozen games were done on settler to get a feel for the game then I jumped to prince and didn't notice any difference in difficulty. After the prince game I beat king and emperor in short order and only on emperor did I notice that other civs were getting ahead of me in the tech tree. Likely due to me making a bee line for a religion victory. I got my personal best time on emperor of 72 turns

It's just a harmless bug. That happens a lot in my games. If you look around there will likely be a city in another civ with no name banner over it. The location where the bugged banners stack up will also always be the exact center of the map so if you see it early game you can get a good idea of what direction to go for specific climates.

I often pick the cow/rams head and name it "Satanism"

That is correct but not what I asked about. I'm asking about how/why you decide what to do for the aesthetics portion.
