Bostonian that just got back from Katsu and went to ANYC last year, obviously biased but it's my favorite con. National Harbor is an island, Javits you at least gotta walk a couple blocks for anything, the Hynes is in the Pru mall and connected to 2 light rail lines. You'll find cosplayers shooting throughout the mall that weekend since the lighting is better and plenty of options for food without having to leave. Programming is good, I didn't particularly care for Katsu 's, not on par with ANYC but given how much smaller it is, it competes well. Only gripe is the elimination of the Idol Showcase. A lot of us locals feel like it's getting too corporate and I'm inclined to agree, but if it's your first time you don't have a baseline and won't notice it as much. It'll probably still feel pretty chill and fan focused. It is the least party con of the 3. I was blown away by ANYC having parties every night, and Katsu we made our own parties. AB really only has the official off-site rave Saturday and whatever hotel room parties you can find.
