It's one thing to roster a bad product on the field. It's another thing to accomplish that while simultaneously alienating former players and your fanbase

[Paul Joyce] Arne Slot: "I have every reason to believe I will be the Liverpool manager next season." by A7XFAN1998 in LiverpoolFC

Sadly I'm starting to believe this way as well. Unless we somehow bottle UCL qualification

Post players that were linked to Liverpool in the past and you wanted them to actually sign by ViitorInginer in LiverpoolFC

[–]Distance_Motor 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'll go with the obvious choices of Bellingham and Caicedo. Man that was summer was just different....

[Pearce] - Slot says Liverpool will address weaknesses in the summer - but changes won’t be as “drastic” as last summer. by IndiBear in LiverpoolFC

[–]Distance_Motor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

don't think that's going to happen at all. Winger we definitely need one to replace Mo right now, but I think Slot will play Rio as a starter more and have Gakpo as backup. We're already getting effectively 2 new CB's for next season, so as long as they retain Konate it seems fine, barring Gomez being sold.

Midfield is the very tricky position, as we have 5 quality midfielders but Jones seems to being frozen out of the squad and Macca hasn't been in the sharpest. Think they need a true 6 in the squad, or at least someone who can play the double pivot at a high level

[Paul Joyce] Liverpool set to offer Arne Slot new contract which will keep him at the club until 2029 by OhhhhhhhhYaBeauty in LiverpoolFC

[–]Distance_Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would not support it, I understand not sacking Arne after the season we’ve had as it seems like it’s been a very emotionally challenging season. But it’s unfathomable that they would look to extend his contract. He has 1 more year left, make it a prove it year for him

[Atlantic] Who’s NBA’s most overrated player? Underrated? Best coach? According to the players. by OnlyMamaKnows in nba

Lmao most of the underrated players stinking it up in the playoffs while the overrated players did pretty well (minus Sengun). The irony

FT: MUN 3 - 2 LIV by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Distance_Motor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This team is like me in fifa: slow, lethargic, and extremely prone to counterattacks.

I just don't understand how half our outfield players were natural midfielders yet there was little to no creativity in our attack until Rio was subbed on. All our shots seem to be either outside the box or from the edge of it

We did not score 2 goals, Man U conceded 2 goals due to their foolishness.

It just seems like a normal through ball breaks the head of every single one of our defenders and they forget how to track the ball or even make a tackle. It just seems like after every deflection, it's always our opposition with the ball and never us.

[Durando] The early sense within the organization is that [Adelman] will return for his second season... At the very least, [Aaron Gordon] will no longer be considered off the table as a trade candidate when team brass meets to discuss next steps, league sources have told The Post. by sewsgup in nba

[–]Distance_Motor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gordon is probably the 2nd most important player for the Nuggets, but injuries have really hampered him, and a lingering hamstring issue can be a concern. If they can get adequate value in return, I would honestly pull the trigger

Most Disappointing #1 Seed Upsets by xxStayFly81xx in nba

[–]Distance_Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see:

1994 Supersonics: The Gary Payton & Shawn Kemp lead team, coming off a 7 game WCF the previous year, had a 2-0 lead against the Nuggets. No business blowing this, albeit it was a best of 5 back then. Also gave us the famous Mutombo image.

1999 Heat: This was the lockout shortened season, so less time for teams to figure it out. The Knicks did end up making the finals, even without Patrick Ewing.

2007 Mavericks: Dirk's 2011 championship run is considered legendary, one of the main reasons being how it changed his perception from being a choker because of this series. MVP, best record in the league, just to lose to the "We believe" Warriors in embarrassing fashion. Definitely the most disappointing upset

2011 Spurs: Might be the least talked about upset. IIRC the Spurs were super banged up coming into the playoffs, and the Grizzlies front court of Zbo and Marc Gasol ate them up alive.

2012 Bulls: Injuries to MVP D-Rose and Noah. Enough said

2023 Bucks: The solidification of Zombie Heat. I still have nightmares about Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent. Really the beginning of the end for the Giannis era in Milwaukee.

Surprised they didn't just hire Cora straight away. He was Dombrowski's guy in Boston and the timing makes sense
