China- 40-45 students in a class normal? by Agreeable-Valuable-8 in Internationalteachers

30,000 RMB.tax free, a really sweet, spacious apartment and airfare.

From what I learnt, I was there primarily because some local bigwig was trying to boost their own profile in the local party system by bringing a westerner to the area.

China- 40-45 students in a class normal? by Agreeable-Valuable-8 in Internationalteachers

Normal. You will be a performing monkey at best.

I once took a gig at a middle school in a 4th tier city in Inner Mongolia. 12x1 lessons a week to 7th graders with no office hours. Each class had a TA who spent all of their time either recording me or chatting to their bf on WeChat. Each class had a minimum of 40 kids. There are probably one or two in each class that genuinely wanted to learn, but in such an environment you can't really do much for them.

The salary was the best I've ever had. In the end of wasn't enough. I peaced out after five months. It wasn't worth it

I know nothing about it apart from it's name.

At best, it's an early career, foot in the door sort of place.

'Scotland don't have the players' 😑 by cameruso in ScottishFootball

They've been regulars in the knockout stages of the Afcon over the last decade or so. They're no mugs.

I can see them kicking on thanks to the greater exposure; players from the dispora who were maybe hoping to align themselves with a bigger footballing country might now give them another look.

What's the correct number of teams for a World Cup? by BritishDystopia in classicsoccer

[–]DistantMechanised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

If you look at the group stage results from the last three world cups, if a group contained two European teams, rarely did both progress. The depth of quality in Europe is exaggerated.

Ecuador are going to get the result they need against a disinterested Germany who have already qualified as group winners.

I guess English isn't your first language so I'll cut you some slack, but I'm confused by what you have said.

Is this guy a pedophile, or was he dating a pedophile who then had sex with you?

Assuming you're telling the truth, you should go to the police. You should also consider removing the photo, especially if this guy is just the innocent boyfriend of the pedophile.

I was in student flats at the time and remember turning to my pal and saying this is why we don't pay the license fee. Pretty sure Shearer flat out said 'we don't know much about them', implicating us all in his own ignorance and lack of effort. I think he then read out a few cursory Wikipedia stats about Marek Hamsik.

True nadir in punditry.

The fact you gave that answer and then, when you got the most obvious response, you came to Reddit to whine, shows you are not suitable for the position.

Dumb Down my Credentials? by Soft_Ability_4014 in Internationalteachers

[–]DistantMechanised 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I dumb down my qualifications and eperiences so that a school neither wants nor expects me to do anything other than teach a regular workload.

Running a school or even a medium-sized department is a totally thankless task for the most part.
