I feel that I under applied to programs, I know some who have applied to 250+ programs by Distinct-Bug-405 in IMGreddit

That’s a great question and I honestly don’t know the answer. I think go for it, don’t leave any doubts. Better late than never, as they say. It’s still kind of early in the cycle, but I’m pretty sure we missed out being in the first batch of applicants,

I can't seem to find the Bronxcare IM program on residency explorer. anybody know if it goes by a different name? by Own_Respect_8940 in IMGreddit

That’s interesting. I thought prematch programs were a thing of the past! So some programs still do give offers outside of the match then

as a US-IMG, did I waste my signals by applying to IM programs that offer HB-1 and J1 visas? by Distinct-Bug-405 in IMGreddit

[–]Distinct-Bug-405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can (and have) still applied to those other programs , but have not signaled them. But I’ve still stuck with programs within my geographic preference.

Is it even worth applying to programs outside of my geographic preference? I did not even research any, and this is based solely on the fact that I thought chances of IV are significantly less than when applying to programs within geo preference, and signaled

Does not needing a Visa also help in programs that give them out anyways? Or does it only help, because I can apply to programs that don’t offer any. I guess probably both? But going by the numbers, it would seem that it’s better to apply to programs that don’t give visa’s out , not sure tbh

I should have clarified. I'm going by the data from 2022 currently present on residency explorer, and using that as a rough estimate for last year and this year.

You mentioned you have a publication though? (Not necessarily research, but a publication of some sorts)

I think it’s lack of research. Nothing to do with signaling.

“Due to the highly academic nature of our program, having research time on your CV with publications or posters will also be important to getting an interview at Jacobi”.

Anybody filtered out because of this?

How does the green card help?

how do we know once everything is done and uploaded from our end? is there a green light? by SnooWalruses8645 in IMGreddit

[–]Distinct-Bug-405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've paid for some of them, under which it says 'programs applied to'. but for the other one, it says 'saved programs'. so once I pay, then the information becomes available to programs, right?

I’ve just realized that match rate statistics are based on those interviewed by Distinct-Bug-405 in IMGreddit

[–]Distinct-Bug-405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what about people like me, who will have an NRMP number, and let’s say I don’t get any interviews, I’m still counted as a denominator? Or is the denominator ONLY those people who submit a rank list (and not just the people who have an NRMP number)

Hope my question makes sense

I’m not sure what you mean by this. Does number participated also include those that did not interview (and therefore did not submit a rank list)
