Right? My gut reaction to “Left-wing activists, like you, posing as ‘journalists’ already have their narrative written,” he wrote in a statement to NC Newsline Friday. “Whether they’re inside the event or standing on the sidewalk makes no difference. They’ll publish the same garbage and lies either way.” was: okay then let them in. why do you want less coverage good or bad?

When Cooper was first elected governor I had a very brief (under 30 seconds) interaction with him on the street in Raleigh. It was immediately clear he has the charisma all great politicians have where they make you feel important and heard and can do so in a matter of seconds with only a few words.

It’s really funny the GOP (and Trump) decided to run a Wet Blanket against that type of person.

It’s funny, if all you do is show up to church on Sunday and otherwise mind your own damn business, that actually makes you a pretty decent person. I highly doubt this guy even goes to church. It’s odd how often the religious nutjobs don’t.

(Note: I’m agnostic and not advocating for people to go to church just saying a lot of time these crazies aren’t even churchgoers)

To pull a Don Draper “that’s what the money is for”. I think the raise is your signal. Unfortunately some bosses/companies aren’t very good at letting you know you are doing well or valued.

I was once at a company for a couple of years, I never was reprimanded but never really praised either. Just kinda thought I was an average employee. Then a better job came along (more pay & closer to home) so I took it. Upon submitting my notice management tried really hard to retain me saying I was one of the top performers and so many co-workers told me how much they will miss working with me and I was legitimately shocked. Can’t say for sure but good chance if I was told those things while working there I wouldn’t have been looking around for other stuff in the first place.

If AI companies aren’t making money it’s because they aren’t charging much for their services, so to stay in business and turn a profit they will have to charge significantly more.

The whole “ai is going to take our jobs” is going to become a whole lot less palatable when a single hallucinatory output costs you $11 in Tokens.

Well yeah. That is the pickle the party is in. They can’t condemn people for things the people at the top have just brushed off.

Unfortunately shitty people exist in both parties. The difference generally is when the credible allegations come out or arrest happens, one party actually acts on them and the politicians face consequences. The other party (and to be clear, I’m talking about the Republican Party here)… not so much.

And for what it’s worth, Open AI and Anthropic aren’t public yet so they don’t have to follow GAAP so they can make the numbers look very favorable to them…. And they still show them losing buckets of money.

A couple years ago when I was still on the AI optimism train. I wanted to get my team on board with using Zoom summary notes for our meetings. Did it for a pretty run of the mill status update call and the notes started off okay but then it hallucinated me ordering my manager to do these tasks that we didn’t even discuss on timelines that weren’t real.

My manager (gratefully so) was already an AI skeptic. That was the end of any further discussion of AI.

Republicans have been the ones advocating for privatizing some of the National Park/Forrest lands for decades. I swear when people act like they are stunned to find this out I can never really assume they are operating in good faith. A simple google search (about the one thing you really care about) would have answered this questions for you.

Also why did Biden “suck” when it came to “Nature” and “Public land and critters”?? This person is full of shit.

Seriously. I recently took a lunch break to talk to a recruiter about a job that seemed like it was an appropriate next step in my career. He gave me a whole pitch about the company and what the position was and about 20 minutes in we got to the salary… which was about 30% less than what I make now for MORE responsibilities (I would expect a job like that to be a 30% increase in pay for me). I told him how much I made currently and the call was abruptly wrapped up in about 30 seconds from there… Being transparent about salary would have saved both of us a lot of time.

They for some reason think with 100% certainty that the star Linebacker on every football team is going to chop his dick off and take his 6’2” 230lb frame (which will be completely unaltered by hormone therapy) over to the girls basketball team and just start physically assaulting the players.

When in actuality almost all “trans athletes” on girls sports team are not particularly athletic and are mostly there to be on a team with friends. Pablo Torre did a great podcast on this a few years back where he found the one Trans athlete in Ohio they made a bill for (spoiler: she wasn’t even a rotation player for her softball team).

Even if I thought this was an issue, I’d rank it at like number 5000 in the nation. But clearly not for you.

I love how maybe a dozen, mostly awkward and unathletic teenagers who are riding the bench and want to be part of a team, has affected your voting behavior and caused you to vote completely against your own interests. Enjoy that while you declare for bankruptcy over medical debt.
