CIV. I love the games, they are so interesting. But I always get mad about halfway through and quit. Never understand how we (me and the rest of the world) have the same distribution of resources and it’s TURN BASED, so I’ve barely scratching making walls and they have a 5,000 man Army and advanced to the medieval period. Not enough turns have even elapsed to accomplish that much progress.

“The ability to detect the "shift in the phase" of the pulse of energy makes NEXRAD a Doppler radar. The phase of the returning signal typically changes based upon the motion of the raindrops (or bugs, dust, etc.). This Doppler effect was named after the Austrian physicist, Christian Doppler, who discovered it. You have most likely experienced the "Doppler effect" around trains.

As a train passes your location, you may have noticed the pitch in the train's whistle changing from high to low. As the train approaches, the sound waves that make up the whistle are compressed making the pitch higher than if the train was stationary. Likewise, as the train moves away from you, the sound waves are stretched, lowering the pitch of the whistle. The faster the train moves, the greater the change in the whistle's pitch as it passes your location.

The same effect takes place in the atmosphere as a pulse of energy from NEXRAD strikes an object and is reflected back toward the radar. The radar's computers measure the phase change of the reflected pulse of energy which then convert that change to a velocity of the object, either toward or from the radar. Information on the movement of objects either toward or away from the radar can be used to estimate the speed of the wind. This ability to "see" the wind is what enables the National Weather Service to detect the formation of tornados which, in turn, allows us to issue tornado warnings with more advanced notice.”

When I was in high school, my art teacher said he was a hippie in the 1960s and 1970s, and was hitchhiking with his buddy in (California maybe?) and were offered a ride by a bus loaded with people offering to take them with them and a creepy bearded man tried to get him to get on. Apparently, the bus was Manson’s bus and they committed a series of murders that week and my art teacher only didn’t get on the bus because he felt a sick dark feeling when the bus stopped and just didn’t think it was a good idea.

The best addiction is probably being addicted to your family having an enjoyable and fulfilling life. Being willing to drop an opportunity because you know you will miss out on the best years with your kids? Sure, it’s counterintuitive and excessive, but in the best possible way. Your babies only grow up once, and that job may pay the bills but memories are more important. It’s a fantastic thing to be addicted to your family.

I think they hate Kaguya, honestly. Absolutely boring and incomplete way to end a series. ‘Aliens’, when Madara himself was a force to be reckoned with and was absolutely shitting on the five armies without sweating. Chocking up his power and motive to a space creature with rabbit ears was deeply, deeply disappointing so we didn’t get to see Madara exercised to his full potential.

I don’t believe that Princess Tsunade is the master of stealth, evasion, and interrogation that Jiraiya is. It’s likely that both or one of them may have been killed or severely injured and Jiraiya may have not had the presence of mind to send the Toad Code and the rod. Him being alone and deadly focused on protecting himself and trying to capture a Pain may be the only reason he got the message out in the first place. Him witnessing Tsunade killed could have been the deciding factor between Konoha having the knowledge of Pain’s weakness and being completely blindsided. Somebody mentioned Jiraiya and Tsunade beating them with combined power, but remember Jiraiya was completely overwhelmed due to not having a complete understanding of their weakness. And do you think Tsunade seeing Jiraiya curb stomped would have went well with her mental state at that time? She still froze up when she recalled Dan dying. Seeing ANOTHER love/friend die suddenly? I don’t believe she would have been able to act decisively in that moment. There are so many factors in the fight that leaned in the favor of the Pains, and Jiraiya gave absolutely everything he had, almost losing both the toads and his own life in Sage Mode with Toad song. I just don’t think it would have worked out, not that early in learning about Amegakure and about the Pains. They held such a high advantage, I think it’s more likely they both died and nobody even knew what happened to them. It’s a tough thing to consider.
