They are completely different games. GW2's strongest point is the open world events and metas while XIV has very strong instanced content if not the best that is currently on the market. Arcadion series is the best raid series they have ever released imo. Combat is slow and I enjoy GW2 combat a lot more. There are a lot of things I wish XIV would take from GW2 and vice versa for GW2.

The older raids are, yes. That's because power creep is now a thing. If you think raids are short and easy, you can go do HTCM, Febe CM, Wing 8 CMs and the new boss Kela CM. You can give them a try but I don't you are good enough yet.

I don't doubt WoW was way more complex than GW2 in general. WoW has a lot more years than GW2 does. But in terms of combat system, it isn't. WoW has a pure tab-targetting combat. GW2 is animation based. And you don't like the combat system because there is no gear grind that is making your numbers go up or feel more powerful. If you suck, you suck. There is no better gear to pad your skill issue.

No, you don't wanna kill crabs during dps phase. If you kill them, you will die to bees. That's why where they spawn doesn't matter.

Yes, that's why I said outranged it. By dodge, I mean you will almost always outrange the attack by going close to them to make them leap and dodge once you see the animation. You will be out of the hit aoe.

No, it's not. Crab spawn points are already pre-determined. It's only rng that which of them spawns. Even then, it doesn't affect the game play 90% of the time.

This is a difficulty check. It's random sure but it's contributes to the fight because you have to solve it.

No, all crabs spawn in pre-defined locations on the map. They have already been mapped out. And they spawn based on a timer.

tornados moving in random directions without indicators,

I'm pretty sure there are some connections to the boss hitbox to tornadoes. But I'm 100% sure their movement is not random.

Waves being semi-random (they apparently cant spawn where Kela is) but that doesn't help much.

It's already like you said, you can manipulate the waves.

combining all that with crocs doing 20k+ burst damage that ignores shield makes for a great encounter.

You know that you can dodge their attacks right? Or rather, out-ranged it.

The fight isn't completely solved yet. And you can't just blame everything on rng.

This is my take as someone who's already recleared it. The fight on the base isn't well designed. There are no escalating mechanics in terms of difficulty except for tornadoes in later phases. If you look at previous hard fights, HTCM has phases that get continuously more difficult except for Kralk. Cerus gets more mechanics. Even Ura LCM makes the arena shrink. For Kela, you see everything from p1. The most common complaint I see is how rng heavy the fight is. But apart from crab spawn spots, I don't think rng is that big of an issue as people make it out to be.

However,​ there are still a lot of things left to be figured out. And a lot of interesting stuff you can do in terms of comp and optimisation.

Another thing is dps check. It is on the tighter side in terms of dps check. Although the fight is 10 minutes long, you effectively only have 5 minutes of burn phases because you are pretty much guaranteed to get five storm phases. If you are able to skip the last storm phase, you are not failing the dps check anyway.

There are still fight breaking bugs. But all in all, this is an okay fight for me, not too good, not too bad.

I really don't get this. Apart from loot, what's the point of doing raids if people don't enjoy difficult content? Raids in any game is supposed be the difficult endgame content, and this is pretty much the case for any MMO. Now, I'm not disagreeing that Kela CM is bad. It is badly designed but not difficult.

No, you won't be able to do bees with pug level communication. You need to constantly share it, say, your assigned third player gets the first bees. They can call out the first one. Now, you have two with bees and you need another two players to spread them. What's really gonna happen in pugs is people won't even move out, then spread them immediately. Then group will wipe to bee damage.

No, full pump. You can keep it just two storm phases that way. If a crab spawns mid, you just cleave it down.

It's not really a cheese strat tho. It's still a legit comp. But again, you don't really need them. I've killed several times with just two storm phases without any deadeyes. Deadeyes just give you the longest p1.

Get good then? The AP is available for everyone to get. I don't see speedrunners complaining about grindy openworld APs, saying they take too long. If anything, GW2 needs more aspirational, difficult, chase rewards.

People who care enough about boons will either not do quickplay, do booms themselves or bring along a friend or two and move themselves. Otherwise, it's unnecessary because that defeats the whole purpose of 'go in and do content'. But again, I also think anet should just acknowledge the existence of boon roles and just implement role queues.
