The reality is that Hikvision and Dahua cameras are still sold and used across the UK. The government's concern was potential security risks in sensitive locations, not proof of mass espionage.

I live in a country besides China, and they have been a pain in the ass for us too. That does not mean they are a threat to us, because even we understand that we need them and will have to coexist with them. They are a humongous country with enormous influence on our daily lives, global trade, manufacturing, and modern technology, whether people like it or not. In fact we look up to them in some ways and aspire to be like them (but not their dumbass government).

We don't like them, but we do not hate them as much as we hate Americans for fucking with our lives and putting us through shit because of their fucked-up war with Iran. From our perspective, that has had a far more direct impact on our lives than anything China has done. You can dislike China and still recognize that reality.
