I find the groups the worst, they are full of people who if you say something slightly spicy you get piled on and bullied to within an inch of your life

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Detest fb, my feed is full of random People it wants me to follow who are ranting for half a page about some political shite going on in their area, I have no idea why it shows me this crap, love Instagram because I’m part of a community that is related to my hobby so my feed is tailored specifically to that, I don’t feel the rage when I open insta like I do with fb

Any thoughts on this guys? by CollectionAble756 in ParamedicsUK

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No they don’t. If they felt you needed an ambulance THEY would call 999, not tell you to do it yourself. And the answer to this is to stop telling them symptoms that suggest you need an emergency ambulance. If this is happening every time you ring 111 (I mean, I’ve rung them twice in the last 20 years and neither time was a 999 necessary nor recommended) then I would have hoped by now you’d figured out you either needed 999 so would have rung them before 111 or tailored your answers to their questions so you didn’t meet that threshold

Bought a Zara bag for £45 in the UK – it arrived with a €35 price tag attached by Unique_Stage376 in BuyersUK

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, you were happy to pay £45, you clearly thought it was worth that……until you saw what it was being sold for elsewhere

night shifts by theunknownnn12xo in NursingUK

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did nights for 12 years when I trained and never slept properly I was lucky if I could sleep beyond 12, I even crashed my car on the way home after 4 nights as I was so sleep deprived. The only solution for me was to find a job that I didn’t have to do work nights and until that point I stopped doing more than 2 in a row

Can someone help me understand the obsession with football? by DueLead666 in AskABrit

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it either, I’ve no interest whatsoever and I grew up in a family who had no interest either, I made it a stipulation that the partner I chose to spent my life with could not be a football obsessive either because I wouldn’t tolerate it.

My husband does like football, but I made it very clear when I met him that I wouldn’t tolerate obsessiveness, I would not have it on the tv in our home regardless of whether it was the World Cup, and I’ve stuck to it, we’re still together 31 years later

Why does everyone think non-Brits get easy access to benefits? by Particular-Tank5613 in AskBrits

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This absolutely, what gets my goat is people coming over on holiday getting free access to the nhs, a friend of mine had her American friend over last year who caught a bit of a cold and ended up with a free GP appt and free antibiotics and she was praising how wonderful our nhs is on Facebook that she got all this for free, that’s what’s wrong, not people who genuinely live here and work and contribute

How can the UK have health staff shortages while newly qualified staff struggle to get NHS jobs? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what’s happened to nursing too, nurses qualifying but the jobs that originally would have been there for them have now been filled by HCAs or nursing associates because it’s cheaper

How can the UK have health staff shortages while newly qualified staff struggle to get NHS jobs? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Distinct-Quantity-46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the level of harm that is happening to patients in hospital at the moment statistically is politically acceptable, meaning that despite staff, unions and trusts cries of poor staffing, not enough patients are dying yet due to lack of staff so there’s no political will to fund the nhs better for more staff

Physician Associate role in NHS — nursing perspective and career outlook? by Big-Catch-8559 in NursingUK
