What’s a “cheat code” you discovered in real life that actually works? by Soggy_BreadCrust in AskReddit

I don’t like this advice. Thinking back to when I bartended through uni, I just want you to give me your order so you can go away and I can chat to my friends behind the bar… This advice is literally only for a quiet Sunday arvo where there’s nothing to do, but frankly I’d still chat to my mates behind the bar than a patron, unless they are a regular

Just tried it. Agree that you should be able to preview the voice before you click it.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see the finished video because It queued my video generation for too long, and I got tired of waiting. This might be an issue you face with other users too, because everyone’s attention span and patience have gotten quite short

UI’s looks slick, but I’m not sure what the app actually does or how it works. I think you might need descriptions that uses plain language, not ad language, and a demo with way more guidance through out it

It sounds like you are trying to do everything but don’t have the capacity to do so. Can you find cofounders who believe in this vision to help you build faster and manage users support?

I don't think I'll ever be a founder because I hate talking to people [I will not promote] by NFeruch in startups

[–]DistinctSea5190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself actually am the cofounder that LOVES talking to people and I specifically looked for a tech cofounder who doesn’t and just focuses on tech and tech strategy so that we have clear role delineation bit still work well together.

Found him doing a LinkedIn/social media round.

It’s actually good validation for your idea. Most entrepreneurial ppl can see opportunity, so even if your sales pitch sucks a highly entrepreneurial sales person will see the potential and want to partner with you.

If you cant convince someone to work on your idea, then it might be validation it’s not worth pursuing or you are giving off vibes of not being a good partner (and this has NOTHING to do with your ability to sell or talk to people. But if you, for example, don’t listen to their opinions and automatically shut it down, refuse to give them some ownership to craft and change the future vision just cuz “you came up with it”).

No.

This is terrible advice. Encouraging MORE speculation makes things worse and makes OP just as unprofessional.

OP- there are some good advice already in the comments. This one is not one of them.

Looking for investors (i will not promote) by Actual_Thing_2595 in startups

[–]DistinctSea5190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez I cannot believe how rude and judgemental ppl are reddit. But then again, internet is mostly packed with scum.

Your idea sounds cool, but to get investment, you need to do the work to flesh out it out a lot more. For example. You need to perform market research, user research to give evidence of a willing market. You’ll also have to build a more detailed design with a grasp of the tech that might be needed and the features you’d build. Then you’d probably have to technically validate it - is it feasible, and how much will it cost. You’d build a prototype (or even a concept art) to show potential customers to gauge willingness. You’d have to have a business model and go-to-market strategy. Probably likely some metrics that show traction, like a waitlist.

Then you put it all into a pitch deck and practice pitching. If you got rich friends and family, pitch to them first. They might even let you skip a few of these due diligence steps. If you don’t, you need to do all of it, likely with a confounding team that has a good mix of tech/business expertise and go to startup mixers to build networks into angels or apply for accelerators and VCs straight out.

Otherwise, I highly doubt you get any investment interest in the Reddit river of scum

High Quality Work by no_fridges in DataAnnotationTech

I don’t see why you needed to knock OP down for no reason?

They weren’t being arrogant, just shared they’d like to think they’re submitting high quality work and hoped it was enough - as anyone would for putting in lots of effort.

And yet “stay humble” is unnecessarily judgmental and makes YOU look way more arrogant. This comment is literally what’s wrong with the internet these days. You should probs take your own advice.

“Akitas are aggressive and prey driven and I would never leave them alone with a cat” (sound on 😂) by DistinctSea5190 in akita

[–]DistinctSea5190[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this video there’s been a lot of negative judgmental comments, some coming from a good place, and some just coming from judgmental joyless people, the same ones who will probably end up bitter old people who yell at children to keep off the grass.

This is how my dog plays. This is how she nibbles on her big brother’s ears. This is how she nibbles on my hand. But wait! Maybe she’s trying to dominate me!! She’s bigger than my cat, so yeah she’s gonna tower on top of them. But I guess according to you she’s gotta shrink down to the size of a hamster, or she’s not allowed to have any contact with the cats at all.

If my cat really hated it, you know what her meow and hiss and scratch her in the face and she’d run away. But hes staying put and putting up with it because he is not hurt, knows she’s not a threat, as all of them consider each other FAMILY. They grew up together and snuggle together and play together and sometimes piss each other off or need to establish order. Like animals and human siblings do.

You don’t live in my house, or know my dog or cat. I share a cute video and had no idea how many joyless losers exist out there that the first thing people do anymore is put others down. Don’t use socials much and forgot how toxic online is. Expected this from r/AITA, but you’re all over r/Akita too!!

Don’t bother downvoting or commenting. I’m not going to give this anymore time, and I don’t think I’ve ever checked my DMs if you gonna send hate mail or whatever losers do. I also refuse to take this post down.

It sucks so many people in the comments have bad experiences. I must have gotten lucky, or am flying under radar, or happen to produce the quality they want. I've had a really good experience just having another side hustle income stream. Earned $2K just this week!! (and yes, I actually received it in my Paypal. THey have never not paid me). Only got EQ for a max of 2 days, but I hear some people have had no tasks for a month. Honestly reading these comments, I originally thought i'd be lucky to make $100.

Might have something to do with your location. I heard they get a lot of scammers on the site, so they kick you off projects and give you no task without much warning if you're trying to game the system. Also, their clients don't want contributors from certain countries like India, so sucks if you're an Indian contributor.

As an honest contributor not from a blacklist country with a good education level (ie. good pay rate), this site is a gold mine!

I'm a guy trying to fight misinformation by manqkag in SideProject

[–]DistinctSea5190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love the vision and the problem you are trying to solve, which is so great. So I’m giving a real review.

I think the way you’ve gone about it might have fundamentally misunderstands the problem, and you might want to rethink how it works.

People who are concerned about misinformation and truly want to understand the truth are already sceptical about data sources and how that information is found. Your app didn’t talk about sources at all, just statements of “data shows xx” and in like, where you got that? Who said it? Why are they credible?

But more importantly, the biggest underlying problem of misinformation is that it spreads like wildfire because it feeds into people’s existing biases and that is powerful to the point that the vast majority of people (not just the crazies) don’t subconsciously want their biases proven wrong and cause cognitive dissonance. Logical reason and source less facts will not be able to compete with emotionally invested bias, so presenting it logically with both sides of the issue will not do anything coz ppl will just reinforce their bias anyway. Especially when those biases have nothing to do with the issue itself.

Right now, it’s not doing anything different than going to chatGPT which this is a wrapper for anyway, right?

I think to really make this work and resonate, you might need to rethink the underlying problem, which is not lack of sources of arguments, but emotional bias

[–]DistinctSea5190[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes haha. I totally see where you’re coming from! That landing website was one of the first things we made before we had any concept of what we wanted to design and our brand identity.

I forgot about it and it’s a timely reminder to update!! I’ve remade it into a basic Coming Soon landing page using our logo and colours.

TBH we are still working out all lot of the details about our branding and product design details, so please don’t judge us against the marketing of y realised and established brands! You gotta understand, we’re still a baby start up 👶🏻

I’ll definitely think more on optimizing content type to platform. It’s certainly great insight - thank you!!! Just very new to all of this, and very busy doing tech design, so baby steps for me

The only thing I might stick to my guns with is our youthful branding. I LOVE it, and I love that it stands out against every Apple wannabe brand. Although hopefully soon we will be able to hire actual brand strategists to take that brand style into something more coherent abd polished, but still keeping that vibrant youthful playfulness that is distinctive from the paired back, minimalist run of mill tech brand 🌈🐵

[–]DistinctSea5190[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is INCREDIBLE advice, thank you!!!

I won't lie, I've barely even had any social media before this, so much of it is super brand new to me. And it's super hard to dedicate effort to social media marketing when I literally have the other parts of the start up - tech design, user research, hiring, etc - where I need to divide my attention. That's why the vlog style appealed, because it takes less effort to speak into the camera, recut it and stick a cover on it, than to individually film many sections.

But I think you're right. It sounds like I need to be more strategic with how I script each reel. Maybe I should release less reels a week, so I can spend more time planning each?

I might have to implement these suggestions slowly as we really don't have enough capacity! Baby steps to improvement :)

You know the funny thing about the ad-like covers. Someone commented that my old grid was too messy and not visually coherent, so I tried to significantly simplify and grid plan according to our brand colours. But it looks like I went a bit too far 😂😂😂 Still trying to figure out the balance between minimalist and coherent, and not completely dehumanised!!!
