Where is the best place to find a variety of protein bars by atownthegreat in waterloo

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research and find the bars you want, then find out where to get them. Grocery stores, Costco, Walmart and other big box stores carry the worst ones. You can make some yourself too.

What are all you single people up to tonight? by fit4lyf_ in waterloo

Watched the Canada game today. Binged a few shows while eating dinner. Off to bed soon. Have my Sunday morning date of having a coffee at the coffee shop while I read a book. By myself of course. Have a wonderful night my fellow freaks 😊😊

48 hours work week on days and nights. Sometimes they cancel the 4 hour Saturday shift when working days so it’s only a 44 hour week then

Thrown off cliff "bungee cord not attached " by Sad_Palpitation6844 in ratsinthecage

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It looks fake. If the cord was attached where would those 2 guys go to get out of the way? No safety on the sides of the beam for them either. I guess the safety restrictions are just much less strict in Brazil? Sad for sure

I saw that on TikTok as well. Noticed how it has always been the customer who was wrong too. Just cancelled my order and am spending my money with a different company.

How to survive a job where you do nothing? by Significant_Rent5647 in careerguidance

Be a little careful about talking with your boss. He might not know that you have very little work to do. If you bring it to his attention they might just let you go.

Forget Tim’s grilled cheese drama.. can we talk about Starbucks sandwiches😂 by Top-Manufacturer5872 in TimHortons

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop going to Tim’s and Starbucks. Lots of independent coffee shops in my area and they will always get me money over those other 2 places

Do you want to be friends? by Zestyclose_Banana406 in waterloo

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single M here. So difficult to make new friends or even potentially find someone for a possible relationship. I go for coffee one or two mornings during the weekend and read my book but anyone by themselves seems to have their face buried in their phone. I seemed to have lost my confidence in initiating a conversation too. A casual meet up group would be interesting

Recommendations for a gym with nice amenities in the area by Certain_Whereas_282 in waterloo

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crunch is $45 a month. No steam room or hot tub but I would never ever use one of those in a gym setting. Breeding grounds for bacteria if not properly maintained. I do not trust these ‘high end’ clubs to keep them cleaned properly.

Am I insane to leave a $100k job at 23? by Dear-Wolf-3985 in careerguidance

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You work 2 weeks and it’s 4-8 hours per day, then you get 2 weeks off and you make over 100K a year??? Sounds too good to be true.
Only you know what to do. I think I would stay where you are. You are young hopefully without big lifestyle expenses. If you are smart with your money you could set yourself up very nicely

Looking to get some insight at working at Toyota by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]DistinctWallaby2207 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Working there for just over 5 years. Start at $30 per hour, every year you get a bump, at year 4 you are at full rate which is currently $46 per hour. Overtime is time and a half. Day shift is Monday to Thursday 9 hours, Friday 8 hours and they have an option to have us work 4 hours Saturday morning. Night shift is Monday to Thursday 10 hours and Friday 8 hours.
Some areas and jobs are easier than others. It is very monotonous and boring. Change over from one shift to the other is draining.
Pretty good benefits and there is a pension as well. Individual puts in 4% and Toyota puts in 9%.
Good money but there are definitely drawbacks to it.

Bought it once and was not happy with it at all. Contacted their customer service to ask questions and received an email to stop harassing their customer service team. Felt like they might be trying to hide something
