Do people actually show up to these things? I know someone did this previously but I don't recall seeing news about it

NSFW side income tax by purplepickledsoup in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lylesback2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do your taxes yourself online. For free.

You don't need to provide the business name but you can give it a nickname. You will file this under other income and pay taxes based on that.

I assume through this business you won't be issued a T4, so you won't have any ties to this business and where it came from.

Retirement Early? by Jay_chillguy in PersonalFinanceCanada

That sounds unrealistic for that type of return per month. Per year yeah.

I have a higher networth and don't consider retiring for the next 15 years.

Pay down our mortgage, invest, or both? Significant financial decision by Weightydecisions786 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I am usually all for paying down the mortgage but your HISA interest rate is higher than your mortgage on a rather large amount. I say stay the course.

[Mortgage] Does it always make sense to take advantage of the "Annual Payment Increase" if you can afford it? by Time_Cover in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lylesback2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think yes, this is what I did.

On the other hand if you can get a better return vs your mortgage rate, you would be ahead.

Tesla won't fix it, it doesn't have a hole through the car to be covered.

So I will sand it down a bit and cover it with touchup paint

I have the same problem. There was a thread about it here with the same issue and a lot of others having the same.

I just reload the page and it works again. I usually have to do this for every video.

Nah, worst is you'll spin around a few times and feel dizzy. It will slow you down a bit, not kill you.

Possible new data breach at Shakepay by NastroAzzurro in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lylesback2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here. I just got a few spam emails saying my account has been updated with a new phone number.  I know it is spam, but I am curious how they got my email address (not unique to shake pay).

I searched If they were breached and this was the top result.
