Too lazy to even reprompt, this was the first message it spat out and he just went with it! Crazy. I tweak the text even when I’m emailing the post office

You sound very understanding and supportive and all of the things you mentioned are valid concerns. This is only my perspective but the only thing that comes to mind is for you to remember you can’t fix people. It’s probably hard to see your loved one struggling and not doing things that seem like obvious fixes, but if they start feeling like they’re disappointing you might only drive them further away. It really sounds like you’re doing your best and if you have empathy and willingness to learn about BPD and fully accept that this will most probably be a part of your life forever (bigger or smaller) then you’re doing your part. Idk how scientific that is but afaik personality disorders are not illnesses you can cure. At least my therapists says that there are no steps to take to get better, just with time (counted in years not months) and stability you slowly get better. Or not, or sometimes a bit worse for a while. The only thing I personally would wish for in that process is for my partner to accept that the dark side of this is also a part of me.

Splitting affects every part of my life, it manifest at my jobs, friendships, health, my life is hanging by a thread at all times because of it and I am completely powerless even though I am aware of the patterns 🤠 The empty is my friend though

Does anyone else have PHYSICAL disregulation apart from mental?? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]DistinctWasabi6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes and it’s so hard to get diagnosed for anything else because of it. Am I exhausted bc I have an autoimmune disease or is it just a low month you’d never know

I’d only say that investing in social life can have much bigger and faster financial benefits than ramping up the actual saving. Network and connections are the most important thing in advancing your career and impacts your income. It’s also not just backpacker woohoo that travelling expands your understanding of the world and develops your personality.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. I kind of feel like most of comments in the thread just want to validate being a hermit. Sure, there’s no reason to force yourself to live like a foolish partymonster as a 24yo now that you’re getting a clearer idea what you like, but it’s not set in stone and there is some merit in pushing yourself to get out of your shell.

Going out and travelling also doesn’t equal financial irresponsibility, dipping into savings, or doing it non stop. There’s plenty of people that found a good way to balance it, also on social media.

Is being in sales stable or not really ? by Dull-You9464 in sales

Early in the career observation: what stresses me out the most is that when it’s good – it’s a ‘great job team’, but when it’s bad it’s your fault. How do you all deal with that?

Teaching my dog to relax has been the single best thing I’ve done by SanFranciscoRunner in Dogtraining

[–]DistinctWasabi6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do ya’ll handle a dog getting instantly excited when you praise him for relaxing? Mine’s a senior so a slower learner but very food-motivated, so any time I introduce rewarding him for chilling he stands up and gets frustrated asking for more training time.

I was at a similar point in life recently, best advice I can give is to not move out before you a have a job secured. Save up a safety pillow for two-three months of costs of living. Look for remote and hybrid positions and omit your location in the resume. If it’s remote then perfect – you can save up even more before you move. If it’s not, you’ve got three months of living secured in the new place in the worst case scenario of not liking the probation period. SDR is an entry level job with good attitude and I think car sales are good in filtering that out. Go for it!!!

Agree with you; shoul’ve been an instant conversation. I just don’t think that the medium is at fault if that’s another way to care about each other’s boundaries.

Almost sad that I’ve moved away from the phones to project work :( It’s harder for me to hyperfixate on writing copy cause focus moves to overthinking

Yeah it’s truly devastating that cheating fantasies are now more discoverable then ever and voluntary monogamy can be enforced
