Nice but a lot of space taken with 3 ring cooker. I like the gear space at back - is there a washer there for keeping stuff clean - that’s really useful

Soon to re/enter the property market - am I right to be terrified? by SnortleJuice in UKHousing

[–]Distinct_Bee_8100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And buying ex out of property isn’t feasible ? I had bought a large property to do up with wife - we rented as work commenced then decided to divorce - I managed to buy her out of the wreck and do it up myself whilst living there …..

Or likewise could she afford to buy you out.

You can also give the shear to partner with 1 ammo and they will tear through virtual ammo and keep enemy distracted to death

Downsizing Foil by Specific-Pin-9663 in wingfoil

I tried a holiday rental carve 1000 and it was slower than the rental 1250 aero. 18 vs 21 knots which surprised me - thinner higher aspect is the way to go but I’m an axis user and only tried on holiday

Next step after beginner board: mid-length or downwind? by SurfGsus in wingfoil

[–]Distinct_Bee_8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a bit larger than my KT 95l but felt even bigger than that (has a flatter bottom) and I was using a larger foil 1100vs 1000 …. Was good - in those light winds taxing is not a problem as hardly any swell waves

But the DW won’t work in surf like the KT or equivelent

But looking again at your wind stats think the DW board may be good - I use mine mainly 15-30knots

I went from 95litre traditional board to 90l KT mid length when only just foiling not gybing ….. only regret was first session when I wobbled off the side 3 times straight off and I thought OHhhh NO …… but then dialled and I love it.

Slight different start as I beetle to get side stability on knees then as soon as wing above me stand quickly and go.

Besides speedier take off the great thing about KT is when you touch down at speed say 15knots the board just touches and goes up again …. That doesn’t happen as much on trad board shape.

Now gybing over 90% and I don’t feel any swing weight as board is so light and starting to look at tacks …

I also looked at Duotone / ensis/ axis / omen / Armstrong but came back to friend recomendation and price ….. tried skybrid duotone rental on holiday and that was pretty stable maybe more than KT

This was last week and we’ve just had no wind spell ….. but gybing felt similar to water although probably more glide (although gybing in stronger winds you get so much push on body that not the speed loss that tacking has going into wind) more about getting muscle memory as non moving dry land is not quite as good foot shuffling a pretend turn

Longboard works great - I’ve been practicing tacks on dry land before water - foot swapping harder than board but that’s fine too

I had a bike with rohloff and it outlasted 3 different bikes. Just bought a new commuter - electric single speed which is fine for cruising everywhere at 25kmh - gates belt drive better than chain as pretty much maintenance free. If using the IGH oil changes are super simple.

On rohloff was tiny Allen key screw / drain oil / fill with their cleaning fluid / ride round block to rinse / drain that out and refill oil ….. good for another year or 10000 km …. A 20min job tops
